I've disconnected mine mainly to allow me to check BECM battery drain with the bonnet open ..,... is there a problem with this? (Apart from no warning that the bonnet is open!).

I fixed this by putting a short length of stripped copper wire between the post and the clamp to bulk up the post a bit.

Fine strands of copper, adding in stages until the clamp gripped.

Yes, please, anything to show him where pipes run and bits are fitted ...
