The Mrs finally passed her test but only on an auto license. It's been hard work trying to find a reasonable automatic for reasonable money. She decided she wanted a Mini so we've ended up with a 2002 cooper. The one with the CVT gearbox. Trouble is, i can't seem to shift it out of sport mode (SD on the dash). Want it in "D" for normal driving. Also, if push the selector over to the right and get it into manual mode, when i push it back to the left, it wont go back into Auto mode. Have to turn it off and back on again.
Could be a dodgy connector not registering the selector positions but i'm not sure. Hope i've not cocked up and bought a lemon. She'll go mad with me. Not told her yet!

Could the firmware be the problem? I know on mine it's the latest firmware that doesnt allow turning off of individual injectors. You have a spare ECU with a previous firmware that we tried and it worked.
Another thing, are the injectors to blame? When i dismantled my old ones, the pistons and springs were caput
As you've said, it may be better to have it running as 2 seperate banks so you can get a better idea of what's going on. My injectors are set to Tartarini although they are generic replacements and they're set to sequential. The reducer is at 1 bar.
I also have a -2 second bank corrector.
We did auticalibrate mine. First time i brought it and the second time after i bought new injectors. Dead easy to do and then just a tweak of the "Modify carb".
Perhaps i used the term "Map" incorrectly. I know that no two will be the same. I was just posting mine as a point of reference incase his was a million miles away.
Comparing mine and Dhallworth's, i see that that whilst his reducer is 78degrees, his gas is only at 21.
Also, he only has one reading for T.Gas and T.Petrol. Whereas on mine i get 2 for each as it's running as 2 banks. Is that right?
I went out and grabbed some screenshots of mine for you. Dunno whether it'll be of any use to you but my car runs pretty good at these settings. Ignore the lambda's as they're not connected to my gas system.
Car was just about up to running temperature and running at idle.

I don't think i posted sizes on my head unit thread but to fit in the hole where the factory sat nav would go, you need to be steady with a dremel cutting away the excess and you need a head unit that is 180mm wide by 100mm high.
Did my heater core sensor a few months back. Book symbol on display when car got up to temperature but no other symptoms. Book symbol went off if I turned car off and back on. Book symbol would only come back if I let the car cool down for a couple of hours and then restart it.
I had no heater problems though. Just the book symbol.
As Orangebean says, the sensor is right under left side of drivers dash footwell. Clipped onto the Inlet pipe of the heater core. If you have big shovel hands, you may need the assistance of a small child. Lol.

I think there is that option Simon. If you remember when we were setting mine up, we had a moment or two where that was happening until you tinkered with the software. I think it's under the "Erichments during acceleration" tab. Which makes sense.
Factory reset wouldn't remove root. To remove it you'd have to re-flash the stock rom.
There should be an option to turn off factory updates but if it keeps updating apps that you don't need, you can go to the play store, select "My apps and games" then "Installed" and then tap on an app. In the top right corner there will be 3 dots. Tap that and turn off the auto update. Go down each app until you're done.
You aren't usually able to uninstall preloaded factory apps (unless rooted) but you should be ableto disable them by going to "Settings" then "Apps" then tapping the app and finally tapping "Disable". Sometimes there's an option next to that which allows you to unistall the updates and free up some space.
If you were in the market at all for a new cheap and cheerful tablet, i'd recommend this. Bought it for my 9 year old after he dropped his old one. He's autistic so spends all day long on his tablet. It's quite fast, has a 10" screen, a mini HDMI so you can plug it into a tv and has 32gb internal storage along with a microSD slot that will take up to 128gb. Didn't seem to come with much crap installed either.
Rooting gives root access to the tablet thus allowing you to be able to change or allow changes to be made to anything. As you've found, some apps can be moved to sd card but some can't. This is usually down to the ROM (firmware) on which the device is running and whether moving of apps is allowed by the developer. Android Marshmallow and onwards allows you to adopt the SD card as internal storage. You can do it on Lollipop (android 5.0) but you'll need root access and an app such as link2sd.
Android 6.0 comes with the new Google assistant which will quite happily translate Chinese or most other languages for that matter to English.
I'd say your options would be:
Root the device
Get another device with larger internal storage and a newer version of android.
Live with what you can do with your current device.
Bit of a basic tablet but not the worse. You would be able to do far greater things with root access and a custom rom. Depends how confident you are messing about although it's not difficult. Rooting will enable you to get rid of all the bloatware as they are installed as system apps. Gain root access and then get a system app uninstaller from the playstore. With root, you can put apk's where you like with a bit of fiddling. Not sure if your tablet has an sdcard slot, but if it does, you can gain more RAM by creating a swap file.

So recovery man turned up. Was told he was coming to a flat battery apparently. He knew nothing about cars other than how to use a battery booster he said. Said i knew more than him so he just stuck it on his truck.
Had a go with the hammer. It almost wanted to turn over but instead i got a hissing sound like air escaping from the starter motor. So i assume i've found the problem.
So try jumping relay 16.
