I imagine to eliminate it completely I'd need start chasing every worn out rubbery component in the steering and suspension.
Yep. I did that. But in fairness once i started really poking around, most of the stuff was either in need of replacement or very near needing replacement. I began a thread here. Have a read through it all if you have the time but i did solve all of my steering problems and it's all documented there.
The drastic changes were noticed by doing the radius arm bushes and the track rod. But everything i did seemed to make a noticeable improvement along the way.
Worth a mooch through ebay.
Depends how fussy you are on new. I got a full set of nearly new Hankooks with 7mm treads including alloys for £120 delivered earlier this year. Then i flogged the alloys for £100. Bit of a one off bargain i'm sure but i'll guess there's plenty of options on there.
Might be lucky and find the front speakers have just gone instead of the amp. I had 2 seized cones in mine.
Pics of your newest acquisition would be nice.
What are your intentions?
Restore the 5 or start a scrapyard?
if you can't buy them, it would seem like a sensible line of work to be in.
Do it quick before Morat buys a 3D printer!
Can you buy non return valves seperate or do you have to get the full block?
lol. perhaps i wasn't tongue in cheek enough. Thatchers Britain!
lol. As i was reading George's post i thought about that. A forum ran P38 export business to the Philippines. George is the local contact who will sell our ice to the eskimos for a tidy profit and whilst we get rid of the ebay crap to foreign lands, we inevitably drive the domestic market up leaving the only P38's ours, which we then sell for millions. Fiendish!
George, you sir are a genius! lol
not sure.
Perhaps the previous owners discovered that despite once been a desirable car that everyone would have liked to own and look classy driving, that it was pretty costly to run on petrol. People buy sometimes buy cars because they've always wanted one or it's the fad of the moment without realising the long term running and maintenance costs. Then they move them on in a relatively short period until eventually finding a worthy owner. MOT history doesn't read like the bible. Usually failing on something simple that was advised the year before.
Dispite initial appearances and attention to detail for sale, i'd surmise that the current owner has had good intentions. Noted by retaining the original wheels for sale, new headlining and air suspension, spending cash on the diagnosis and replacement radiator and forking out for a diagnostic kit which can be seen in the boot. Scabby seat looks like a combination of poor lighting and muck in the cracks. Rest of the interior looks pretty new with the bonus of some nice walnut trim bits which are quite expensive to buy second hand. Private plate would probably be worth something to the right enthusiast given that it says HSE. Body looks good with no apparent rust to bonnet lip or lower tailgate.
Somebody in their 20's has probably owned the car at some point and blacked out the rear lights and window and added the wheels to make it more mysterious and dealer-esque.
Could also just be a pile-o-shite with a cooked engine!
be like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the lost ark.
Jiffy bag on stand-by!
Say's Prins right there in the ebay link mate!
Anyroad, yes. it does appear to be the seller that hasn't got quite the keen eye that his listings sometimes advertise. Perhaps the inclusion of Prins in his listing title confirms that. lol
tis what it said on the ad.
There's a good clean looking Prins system with a King ecu on ebay. £350
Gilbert has had recent experience with passive immobilisation being turned off. He's your man!

Yeah, but I'm not the guy who refurbed it last time :P
Ah. so it's poor owner maintenance then? lol
Vaseline would have sufficed mate for the o-rings.
Lol Chris. I think the previous owner was Morat. It's his block!
make sure the springs are all free from gunk when you get your spare NRV's. Cotton bud and some carb cleaner will sort it. Or you can be sure that they'll stick shut. Also, don't lube the o-rings that you put on the end of the NRV's.
