I also change into lower gears when going down steep hills to save the brakes.

I don't exactly remember what it did to £40 on pez as i always filled it on payday..

£132 would get me 407mi which wasn't too bad.

That would equate to £32.43 per 100 miles on petrol then.....

Not too bad then..

Actually, pretty grim.
I buy gas at 52.7ppl right now and get an easy 170 miles per tank even when thrashing the thing round country lanes on a 7 mile commute. With a 65 litre fill that's £34.25 per 170 miles and all those figures are worst case apart from the price which is correct.
Petrol consumption is absolutely minimal, I waft out of the estate on petrol and it changes to gas just after the NSL sign. That's no more than half a mile.

On a motorway trip, 200 miles is quite possible as Gilbertd says.

Mwa hahaahah :)

, but their reception is less than stellar.

You're going to love Simon's gleaming workshops :)

I'm not sure I'd ever put the word "Nimble" to describe a P38 but they do cling on suprisingly well to corners when pressing on.
The body roll is epic, you can't hide that! I'd guess that the EAS means you can't get too fierce with roll bars unless you had some mind of extending roll bar links to compensate for the variable ride height.

Thank you!
The good news is that SWMBO now knows the EKA off by heart :)

Immobiliser was disabled! I'm assuming that's the same thing as Passive Immobilisation as it's the only one I can find.

On the other hand, the fob lost sync again tonight, within about an hour of being parked and without any little fingers this time. Batteries first I reckon.

Slightly related... what is the correct thing to do at traffic lights?
Stay on the foot brake? Handbrake? Neutral? Park?
I never did a lesson in an Auto and opinion seems divided online.

She's not perfect, but the driver's door latch is already down one microswitch so we're not that far from being unable to sync a fob at all....
plus, it bugs me! :)

Richard, I'll double check but I think I've left it enabled. If it's me being thick again, great! hehe

After the rolling code/EKA debacle this morning, my just drove it and locked it on the key as the fob wouldn't work. I was surprised as it has always synced in the ignition barrel until now without any further effort.
However, doing the door lock waggle, key press dance (I'm not quite sure what combo it was, but it worked) re-synced the fob.

On the basis that there's only so much "Character" I can put up with on a car, has anyone ever replaced the RF receiver ring thing in the ignition switch?

180 miles / 63 litres = 2.8 miles per litre on the OB scale.
That's on gas, and she rarely sees a dual carriageway.

Interesting, as Old Man Emu are definitely experts in the field. But.. they cannae change the laws of physics!

No, I think you're underestimating the sheer power of the light side :)

Ah hah :) Thanks Richard.
It's probably delayed Karma from when a very annoying house mate at University had a car with the same system. She never paid her bills and never offered any of us a lift. She did leave her car keys on the mantelpiece though.... :)

An RF filter would be a great idea - but the battery wasn't flat.
I wonder if it was anything to do with a certain 8yo being in charge of the key for a while. Is the P38 one of those cars where the rolling code rolls over if you press the buttons on the fob too many times without the car in range?

Technically nothing, but I did have to talk my wife through the EKA unlock over the phone. I don't know why it suddenly demanded the EKA, it hasn't needed it for months. Maybe my neighbour has bought a new radio controlled gizmo...

I haven't any experience with Bilsteins on a P38 but they are excellent quality.

Still waiting for my pollen filters too... clearly they couldn't cope with the INSANE DEMAND generated by this mega-site :)

Nothing! My wife actually drove it for a change :)

If you've got the Hankook, it can run the ABS pump, the EAS compressor, both blowers on flat out, all the lights and still crank the engine over without any problem......

I do, and it certainly can :) I was just babying it for no good reason.
