-22c! You must have confidence in your p38!

Or maybe you're just prepared to set it on fire if it leaves you stranded? 😀

I've never found a difference in the rate that engines use mineral or synthetic oil. I use semi in the P38 as she leaks a fair amount and full synth in the XJ as it's reasonably oil-tight.

I tend to use Mahle or K and N, although I've never needed the nut on the end of the K and N because I don't gorilla them tight in the first place.

This is pretty good for damp. It won't instantly dry a soggy P38 carpet but over time it makes a genuine difference.

Top Work!

Drove it to Driffield through the pouring rain, used the tailgate to get two freezing U9 Rugby players changed into dry clothing, drove back with the heated seats on and the defrost mode fighting the immense amount of steam. She ploughed through the standing water without a wibble.

At the same time, a former P38 owner and garage mechanic gave me two rear shocks a (britpart) steering damper (in its box) a MAF and various hoses for £20. If the MAF checks out, I'll be chuffed to bits!

OK, tank out!
Let's hope it's the fuel pump, an easy fix once you have access.

Ok so it is worth meeting up with the nano. First to enter the EKA and second to try and wake his BECM with a known- working fob.
Ok....

So, entering the EKA with the Nano is different to entering it with the key?
Was not expecting that.

But hey, P38 :)

I'm confused too! Nanocom can enter the EKA but it isn't going to fix the fob.

Fair enough, I've never done it on a P38. But I bet those bolts aren't going to be just spinning out!

Yep, that's the thing. If you're dropping the tank would you put an old pump back in?

Welcome to the club :)
I reckon Chinese submarines use MF31s!

I was really p-d off that someone had cut a hole in the floor of my Jeep - until the fuel pump died and I was massively pleased. If nothing else you can whack the pump in-situ and see if it starts!

Irrelevant waffle deleted! Coffee time :)

There are no good batteries for our P38s at Halfords.
Bend to the inevitable! Buy the Hankook of Power!

lol :)

In other news, I took the Duchess to work today put the seats down and rammed her full of five tills, two network switches 7 big UPS units 3 CCTV cameras and a load of associated cables and tools. I didn't even need the trailer, there's tons of rooms in these things :)

I think you just have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2.

Sounds about right for a setup where they are all switched on at the same time. Some newer cars pulse them individually, which had me really confused how they were getting away with a weedy main feed to the control unit until I worked it out.

What is the advantage in that? Surely it just means that it takes longer to heat all the cylinders? Or do they shove $MANY_AMPS down each one for a very short time?

Apple Chutney, with a nice bit of chilli. Nothing fierce, just a single birds eye in a batch. No Cinnamon though, people put it with apples all the damn time.

Welcome Donald! It looks you're gifted with the spanners!
I think a 2020 summer camp would be a great idea, and then maybe a mass arrival at a show/rally/trial to wave the p38 flag in the 4x4 world?
