The LINLEY is finally painted and had a teflon coating applied recently. It’s parked in our garage in Connecticut and I plan on taking her to some LandRover events in the Northeast, USA over the next few years.

JMC, where are the photos?? Last time I saw it, it had no interior. We've never seen the finished article.

So you should be looking for a refund of some sort from Powerdrive?

I have shares in 8 racing greyhounds.

He certainly knows his engineering! Isn't he the guy that stuck a 6 litre lump under the bonnet of a P38?

My missus had SEVEN of the little slitty eyed things on the trot! The last two were bought from new and she absolutely loved them. When she traded in No6, it only had 3000 miles on it and the dealer gave her a great price. If I recall correctly, No7 only cost her £1500. She only got rid in the end because of her hands. She struggled to change gear. The last two were 1.8 sports and went like shit off a shovel.

All you have to do next is haggle the bill with Powerdrive. Don't pay the first figure they throw at you.

This is total bollox!!!! How can it overheat when it is not even running?? FFS, can't someone get this motor away from there at least?

Hold on ........... you put your car into Powerdrive because there was a lack of power? They play with it, find a 'faulty' pump, change it but oh dear, that doesn't cure the fault? But hey ho, never mind, we're going to charge you £700 for the pleasure. Now I may be wrong here and if I am, someone will correct me. But they can't charge you for new parts if those said parts aren't the cause of your fault. Tell them to put the old pump back on!!!!
Is it a Portsmouth thing?? This reminds me of when SWMBO put her Freelander into LR, Portsmouth for a full service. They collected it (very nice of them) on a Friday. Now purely by chance and a miracle, I got home early this particular Friday. I was there when she took the call from the dealer to say the car had been serviced but there were some 'jobs' needed doing. OK, she said how much? £3,500 was the answer!!!! She gave the phone straight over to me. During the discussion, he said it needed new wiper blades at £46. I asked him was this the wiper blades I had changed the previous Saturday. His answer was, and I kid you not, "Ah, but Sir, they are not Land Rover blades"!!! At this point, I told him to just bring the car back along with a few choice words. Next morning I took the car along to my little man in the next village who went through the list of 'faults' and couldn't find one of them. The list included a missing wheel nut. (cost of replacement, £120 because they only change them in sets). We looked and looked and couldn't find a 'missing wheel nut'.

Mazz, threaten them with the TSA. As Gilbert says, they can't charge you for what they haven't done. If they say a grand, offer them £400 for their labour.

Mazz, hold on!!! Typical woman, so impatient lol . Remember all the guys on here have jobs, I'm the only retired old goat on here. The weekend approaches. Once one of the blokes get hold off of your beastie, it will fixed in no time but they can't just drop everything and run down to Portsmouth. You will have seen Marty has got problems with his at the moment and I'm too far away now. Mind you, my toy doesn't have a tow hook anymore.

They could have possibly played with it .............. they claim on their website to be 'diesel fuel injection specialists'.

What garage in Portsmouth is the car at?

The RAC really are the pits!!! Three and an half hours is rubbish. As you can tell, I hate the RAC lol when I got my current toy, it came with 12 months RAC membership and warranty. I had already been a member of the AA for 20 years. So I had membership of them both. I drove it to Heathrow 6 days after purchase and left it there while we jetted off to sunnier climes. Came home 15 days later, turned onto the M1 homeward bound and the bloody alternator failed.Made it into Scratchwood. Now this was 9pm on a Sunday night. Obviously we had a host of luggage (especially as we had been through Dubai Duty Free lol) Taking it straight to the dealer wasn't an option but I realised I could use the AA to get it home and then the RAC to take it to the dealer. Was picked up from Scratchwood within 30 minutes and taken home. First thing Monday morning I rang the RAC. It took them THREE DAYS to collect the effing car. Every excuse under the sun was used including 'He is stuck in traffic'. Erm, this is Lincolnshire, the only traffic we have here is tractors. Then they charged me £120 because it was at home. Naturally, the dealer reimbursed me although they were seriously fukked off 'because that wasn't part of the deal' they had with the RAC. The RAC then pestered the life out of me trying to get me to renew my membership when the 12 months were up and I ended up being quite 'abusive' to them before they gave up. No complaints about the dealer in this, they had the car repaired and back to me in 24 hours. But I flatly refuse to have anything to do with the RAC now.

Am laughing my head off!!! Marty is a star on here!! He could more than likely take your car apart and put it back together again. Two blokes to trust are Marty and Gilbert. Anything LPG related, then LPGC is your man. Sloth and others on here also know their business. I guarantee if your car gets in one of their hands, then your problems will be solved.

Firstly, I suspect, it's because you're a '70 yr old granny' that you're being treated so. Wait a couple of days and see what the guys on here come up with. I used to live near Pompey and my first reaction would be to trailer it to where it should be ie one of the guys who has a nano. Don't give up on it because the blokes on here really know their business. Have a read through some of the threads and it's amazing how often the solution to a major problem gets solved. We even have a guy from the States who regularly asks for solutions on here (JMCLumini).

I love posts like this. A guy is being taken for a ride by know nothing numpties and he finds us and BOOOM. Two of you close by him both with nanocoms who can help him for a lot less and minus the VAT.

Do you have someone who powder coats nearby? They will do your inlet manifolds! They have baths and powder coaters will coat anything and everything. Take the rocker cover in and they will match the colour. Won't be expensive either.

your tdv8 is far to nice to get that dirty,,

I dunno ............. I took her over Mont Blanc in December and back over the Brenner Pass in January!! Plenty of bloody snow about each way. I had it washed down in Sicily and the young lad doing it took an hour as he was drooling over it so much. They tend to have the V6s down there and V8s are rare.
