That certainly simplifies things!

I guess I need to take the wires from the DSP connector and connect them to the correct input pins on the door amps, then connect the door amp output pins to the appropriate speakers?

Yeah, I remembered Marty had trouble sourcing the DSP connector C0491 which made me realise they were connector numbers.

C1367 and C1380L don't have locations in RAVE, just face view diagrams. Must be somewhere in or near the door though, I guess.

Think I figured it out...the dotted lines show a different connector in which the pin numbers are different.

C0491 is the plug that connects to the DSP and it uses pins 3 and 4. C1367 is a connector at the other end of the loom before it goes out to the speakers, presumably a door loom or joint somewhere under the carpet etc.

Thanks!

Just trying to work out the wiring to replace the DSP with the door amp system.

I'm not too sure what's happening in this image though:

It looks like pins 3/YG and 4/GY go to the left front bass speaker but I'm not sure what the dotted line a little way down that has shows the pin numbers reversed (4 and 3) means.

At the speaker end of all of these, is 1 the positive terminal and 2 the negative?

Might be a daft question but are the two bits circled here the pin number and the wire colour? IE: Pin 3 is a black wire with a white stripe going to both the tweeter and the mid speaker?

Yeah, I've downloaded the Google Map data for offline use for the area where live and where I work but for some reason I don't think Waze uses it even though I'm prrtty sure it piggy backs Google Maps anyway.

The appeal of Waze for us is that it allows us to share routes, locations and arrival times with friends and family when we go places. Free traffic info/avoidance is handy too.

I'll take a look at some of the ones mentioned above though. Always up for trying new things in case they're better (within reason!).

Only if you have an app capable of offline navigation.

We use Waze and it depends on a data connection. If we take a wrong turn or something else happens while we're in an area of no signal it won't reroute us.

I use my phone afor sat nav at the moment but I'm going to miss the factory sat nav. It doesn't know about newer roads, the routing can sometimes be a bit iffy and I can't put post codes in etc but it's saved us a couple of times when we've been well and truly lost and had no mobile signal.

The car picked up a GPS signal and got on with the business of navigating us. Not a great sat nav but a wonderful emergency option. I even learned how to put it in map view last month!

I started gathering the parts to DIY Marty's DSP replacement system. Have everything except the head unit now (and time).

For the movement when going over bumps, mine does that and I found it got a lot better after having a wheel alignment done.

It's not perfect but it's noticeably better and less inclined to follow the fits left by trucks. I imagine to eliminate it completely I'd need start chasing every worn out rubbery component in the steering and suspension.

Mine had a brand new pair of ContiSportContact5's at the front a few weeks ago and has something by Landsail (I've never heard of them either, there when I got the car) at the back.

Neither are off-road tyres in any way but got me up a snowy slope today that a brand new Lexus 4x4 failed to get up :D

The last hour or so of the journey was me sat in the back, with Fiona driving what felt far too quickly along country lanes, holding a phone playing music and trying to sing along as best as I could while being thrown around as the junped on the brakes for unexpected blind bends while aslo trying to act as a human sun visor to keep the sun off the little. Not a relaxed end to a journey lol.

I realise the cold is unlikely to have affected it but it's all i could think of that was different to the previous day - wonders if something inside the amp had contracted on the cold and didn't like being warmed up when switched on. More likely to have just been its time to die though.

Can't ask for better customer service than that!

This reminds me, I still need to send back my faulty door latch in exchange for the one I bought from you. I'll wait until January to do that, so you don't miss it while you're away.

I'm awful at finding the time do things.

Will do, although now that my DSP appears to have finally died my hand is being forced a little. I started gathering the parts ages ago but never found the time to actually do it.

If I do d time to do it before Christmas I'll have to find another way to connect the wiring to the amps but if I don't I'll order some connectors in January :)

I tried to cheat around it and use Google to search your website but it seems Google isn't aware you exist lol.

Your being out of the country isn't a problem in the end, you appear to be out of stock of the door amp connectors :(

Enjoy your time away and thanks for having a prod at the site! I did know you have another job and sorry if it came across as a complaint :)

That's got it. I wonder how much more business he would get if his stock easier to find?

Currently on mobile and can't find a way to browse his offerings on his website.

The homepage has a small selection of this at the bottom and the search is returning no results at all.

I've looked but I can't find any buttons to view all products or categories etc.

Am I missing something or does the mobile version of the website not work properly?

My locks occasionally make a louder than normal groaning noise too. I just put it down to a quirk of the car.

Started the car up on Saturday at stupid o'clock in the morning and found my radio no longer works.

I get a loud click/pop through the speakers that repeats every fee seconds. I clicked through the menu for bass, treble etc and found that the option for the DSP equaliser is no longer showing up - has my DSP amp finally gocen up the ghost?

It worked fine the day before and the only difference on Saturday morning is that it was bloody cold, not sure if that's relevant though.

It couldn't have picked a better time to crap out on me. Had a 3 hour drive with a baby that will only sleep in the car if there's music playing...

When I got a bit stuck with some snapped exhaust studs last month we tried welding nuts to the exposed stubs.

Just disconnected the battery and went for it.

Nothing bad happened and the car fired right up once it was all done.
