(Or perhaps it _is _there - in the very small print ?)

He's gotten round it by removing the option of bidding or buying now. The only option is to make him an offer, which he is able to decline.

Picking up the sofa from Coventry today and taking it to Huncote. At the weekend I need to take the sofa from my house, swap it with the one in Huncote and then pick up two matching arm chairs from Coventry and take them to Huncote.

It's all a bit convoluted but my driving license doesn't include permission to drive with a trailer rated for morr than, I think, 750kg (

Use of a trailer on the Sunday would definitely cut down on the number of trips needed if you could also spare the time to drive as well. My car has a tow bar if your insurance covers you to drive other cars?

I can provide manual labour to assist you on Saturday and a financial contribution towards the trailer hire cost :)

I'll open the sunroof, that should draw some air through the car and out the boot. I've been in cars with the boot open in the past and lived to tell the tale :)

Knowing my luck, it'll piss down with rain all day and everything will get soaked :P

It sounds so obvious once someone else points it out. Thanks!

I've just realised another issue with moving the furniture - the air suspension.

It's a sofa thatt will need to hang out the back of the car a little bit and the suspension won't go up or down if there's a door open.

Will it be OK if I set the suspension and hit the inhibit switch before opening the boot and loading the car?

Ah well...that's that out the window then.

I'll have to strap the little one to the roof - no air bags up there!

Is it possible to turn off the passenger side airbag? I'd like to fold my rear seats down to transport some furniture but still be able to put a rear facing baby seat in the front. Can't do that with an active airbag for obvious reasons!

I've seen the traction failure warning when my battery has been low/disconnected. Same with the lost radio code.

Loose/dodgy power connection from the battery?

Mine has DSP with nav and I occasionally get a sort of rustling/crackling noise coming from somewhere in the rear. It starts when I start the car but disappears after a few seconds although it can sometimes persist for a few minutes.

Lately I've been starting to think it's somehow related to the braking system. I can reliably get it to stop by pressing the brake pedal. If I release the brake pedal it comes back. I've noticed that it goes away completely when the pump for the brakes stops doing its thing and the system is properly up to pressure.

I have absolutely no idea if/how/why the radio system and the brake system would be linked they sure seem to be. A shared earth point maybe?

You guys have rather lost me but the parts showed up today :D

Unsurprisingly, RS is much better than morons on eBay when it comes to service. I've even been sent the right parts!

Now I need to break out the soldering iron and get them in place. I'm guessing that there's no such thing as a T-piece heatshrink for the joints shown in the diagram, wrapping them well with electrical tape should do?

https://rangerovers.pub/topic/560-something-non-range-rover-related-looking-for-an-antenna-connector

Some of the info in this thread may help understanding the reverse polarity bit - I had a bit of trouble sourcing a reverse polarity WiFi antenna connector earlier in the year.

The pictures show the socket/pin difference that Gilbertd mentioned.

Report them to ebay.....

If there is a RS outlet near to you pop in and they will help you

However there loads of other alternatives on ebay too

eg. 362081041472; They have cheapish 330 and 15 ohms so you can then parallel/series up to make 110 ohms and 15 ohms...
Yes, That would take quite a few resistors but it is better than arguing with a bunch of numpties !!

Or just use 47 ohm 5W items etc... (?)
Note Ray A. has suggested not using wirewound as they have an inductance which may affect frequency response

They have been reported to eBay, not to worry! It was eBay that gave me my refund in the end as the seller continued to be an utter tosser, wanting to charge me all kinds of postage fees, handling fees, restocking fees, admin fees etc. It sounds petty for a value of £2.50 or whatever it was but there was no I was letting them get away with their poor business practices!

I did look for others on eBay but it kept giving me different ratings to what I was searching for (0.1W, 120 mOhm etc) and having had one bad eBay experience with resistors didn't want to chance it!

Cheers Orangebean, I'll order some of those using the part numbers.

As per the diagram here I need 12x 120 ohm 1W, 4x 330 ohm 1W and 4x 47 ohm 1W resistors.

I'm having trouble sourcing 1W resistors though!

I found a source on eBay but had an awful experience with them. They sent me the wrong items (1/4W) several days late and when I asked for them to send the correct parts I was told I was being too rude and that I had to open an eBay case. They also told me explicitly that "no one from this company will help you". Three weeks later I have my refund from eBay....

Apart from that seller though, I can't find what I need. Maplin don't have them, the girl at the desk said they go from 0.6W to 2W so no luck there.

I've looked at places like Farnell and RS Online but that's a bit of a minefield and the options are endless and somewhat confusing for someone who isn't too familiar with this stuff. I also don't really need to order them by the hundred but I'm not sure these are bulb-buy places only.

Anyone know of a simpler place to find what I need?

I've found that holding it at the bottom of the travel for a second before taking it back up then holding for a second at the top helps.

I used to try to take it straight back up as soon as it hit the bottom of the travel but that hardly ever worked.

I've been a tad busy the last two weeks - my little boy was born on the 12th and I think abandoning him and his mummy to go looking at car stuff would have been frowned upon :P

I'm back at work now, which is how I've found time to start looking forums again.

Bloody lumpy lying across the engine, but I agree doable

I still climb up on top, I'm to old to lay across the engine and not pay the price, many of my neighbours have seen me perched on top of it, you can see they want to ask what I'm doing, but never do,,

When I had my old diesel P38 I found there was enough room in the engine bay for me to stand on the chassis rail to access certain bits. One of the few benefits of the straight 6 diesel over the V8 petrol :P

Do you want me to email the original (full version) Smiler? If so, pm me your email address

HOW TALL IS THIS GUY??

I might need to start paying more attention to the headlining stories and photos....found mine beginning to sag over the weekend :(

Well that is handy info. Cheers!

I'd checked the sunroof but it was all dry up there. Blasted some air down the front drains just in case but couldn't reach the rear ones.

I tried this a couple of months ago.

Water was dripping (flooding...) from the join between two air vent ducts above the OBD socket.

I stripped out the entire plenum cover as you have. I found that my pollen filter housing was pretty much underwater. Dried it out, removed all the debris and started putting it all back together. Siliconed every screw I could find. Siliconed the covers for the pollen filters. Replaced the foam and reseated the plenum cover and ensured as best I could that it was sealing well. I fitted new screws all along it and siliconed those too.

For good measure I cleaned out my AC drains and reseated the AC drain rubber pipe to remove a kink.

The bloody thing still leaks and my carpet is sodden every time it rains and to make things worse it started leaking through my interior light too! It only did that once though and I'm fairly sure it's unrelated to the water in the pollen filters :P

FWIW, I don't think you're missing any foam. Mine has the same uncovered holes in the plenum cover. There's also no clips to mount any foam to in that place. I think it makes the foam that is there pretty pointless. They want to keep crap out of there or they don't. Covering half of the holes is pointless.

I gave up trying to fix my leak.

Ah, oops. I did miss the bit about taking the brake off and rolling with the autobox and I guess I took a meaning that wasn't there from the rest. Sorry!
