You also mention the door trigger not working. That could do with further investigation as to why it doesn't. A wiring fault can cause all sorts of havoc.
So it's working as it should if you use the nanocom to control it? Goes up and down to any height without problems?
Ride height sensors aren't on your list of replaced parts.
Have you checked the calibrated ride heights?
If you have a faulty ride height sensor, it could be always fighting with itself to level.
I would be no good at deciphering data. I just work through stuff til it's fixed. lol. Someone here will be able to though.
You're certain of no external leaks? Checked top and bottom of the air dryer? How long after the compressor stops running does it fall back to earth?
Obviously, that's quite a bit of air in there. When the compressor is off, you must be able to hear it leaking out from somewhere as it drops back down?
When you rebuilt the block, did you check the orientation of the one way valves when you put them back in? These can also get stuck and they advise not to lube the o-rings that go on them. I've just rebuilt a spare block i have. One of the one way valves was sticky. The spring was full of white powder and muck. A good blast with cleaner and a little brush and it was good as new.
The sound is rather strange from the exhaust valve. Could there be a blockage inside the block?
Do you have the ability with the nanocom to select a ride height? If so, what happens when you do that? Does it work normally or do you still get the same issue? I use EASUnlock for doing this.
Where about's are you?
Have you had a look at the exhaust valve solenoid? Should be closed when inflating.
Have a look here for the diagrams and flow paths.
Been on a 15 mile round trip this morning. I think the problem is cured. Compressor kicked in a couple of times briefly i assume to top the pressure up. No running for long periods especially at traffic lights or roundabouts. I suppose i need to get used to normal compressor operation.
Fingers crossed!
Went back out and tested pressure switch. Open circuit. Strange since like i said, went for a drive and the height never altered
Started car and compressor ran for about 15 seconds then cut out. Retested and switch is now closed.
All bags replaced. Took me 5 hours. Had a right chew on getting one of the rears out. It was proper stuck in the hole.
So now i can be confident that my bags are good, i can turn my attention back to the block. Just been out for a drive and when i pulled up outside my house and put it in park, compressor kicked in and kept going. No reason for it to. Car was at standard ride height for the drive and didn't move up or down so there was no reason for the compressor to be chiming in. Especially not for any length of time. I may have a secondary issue. Perhaps dodgy pressure sensor? I've seen a test that story wilson does about seeing if the circuit is open or closed. I'll give that a go.
lmao.
He wants 600 quid for a 15 year old amp. Lord knows what price he'll concoct for a hard to find boot badge.
Just as a heads up, this is the seller that sold me the "mint condition" bonnet and lower tailgate for my last car that looked like they'd come off the titanic.
As much as there's value in restoring and keeping things original, who in their right mind would be anal enough to spend £600 on a 15 year old amplifier which is the Achilles heal of the sound system?
I bet Orangebean's already in negotiation. If not for the amp, I bet he's already asked about the boot badge. :-)
Smashing. I'll gather the tools in prep. Hopefully weather behaves.
No objections to the extended ride height and lowered to axle stands idea then?
I don't have the swan neck. It's aftermarket although that too is on my list to swap.
My mates got some real high axle stands. Can i put it on extended ride height and then deflate it down onto the stands with eas unlock?
From what i've read, you don't need to remove the rear wheels but for the fronts, it's best to take 'em off and remove the liner. Is that right?
I thought thete was a topic on speakers but i couldnt find it, so i'll post this.
Whilst waiting for my new airsprings to turn up, ive gotten round to fixing the subwoofer speakers. Like many, the foam rings were perished. I looked for ages on the web for some that might fit. Ebay came close but the measurements were a couple of mm off. I eventually found these and have fitted them. Fit perfectly and job done.
I was looking into replacement drivers but struggled to find (A) a drop in fit and (B) reasonably priced. Since my cones were in good nick, i decided to do em up.
I shall be tackling this at the weekend. Nothing like easing into a job though. All 4 at the same time! Any tips on jacking and axle stands and wot not?
lol Clive. Just bought new bags for £224. No way i'm not gonna buy the 6 quid clips.
Yep. I reckon he might have just bought all that. :-)
Where's the best place to get 4 new air springs from?
Asking for a friend. lol.
Emergency valves on tonight. First opportunity I've had. Inflated each corner to 4 bar. See if I lose any air overnight.
I have a spare block on standby that I've rebuilt this week.
My monies on the diaphragm in the old block.
Says in the description that he wants "4 figures" for it. I'm thinking an Ewok, A Stormtrooper, Spider-Man and an Action Man should suffice.
I had a problem after I rebuilt my eas block. 2 days in and it started acting weird. Randomly sending itself up to high ride height whilst driving. Then it wouldn't go down. Then it did, then it rose. Then it behaved. Then the front would go down and the back would only eventually go but slowly. I had the clicking going on. Turned out to be the new diaphragm I fitted. The metal cap had come off it. I replaced it and that sorted it.
It could be anything on the block but based on my experience, the dodgy diaphragm produced one of your symptoms.
If the diaphragm controls the direction of air, could a diaphragm not closing all the way or with a nick in the rubber or something be allowing the air in the system to flow back out?
Or
The exhaust valve solenoid is sticking open a bit?
