check your bushes ,they could be loose or worn, including shock rubbers, the only thing that moves when stationary.
get someone to drive it around so you can walk beside it and listen for the noise.
grease your universals they may be just dry
anything is possible , if Martin and the others on rr net that helped him put an LS in his p38 can make that work then this is possible , all you have to do is meet the requirements for the computers and that is possible as per say,
PS I would do motor and suitable gearbox as a complete unit.
work forward of the transfer case in the same way Martin did . yes it involves an expensive shaft to adapt to but the motor, gearbox can communicate properly and make it think it still the original set up
not shore this is relevant but the numbers on gm gear boxes tell it all
example 4L60e stands for
4L , 4 speed
60, is the amount of weight the gearbox will move (6000lb)
e, electronic
5L40e with only 4000lb forward thust its obvious its not big enough for a heavy 4wd, it is possible to upgrade them up to 75 or even 80 in some autos.
just some useless information.
looking at pump I think you copperier look might be copper coat (an anti seize product maybe)?
thing for first timers to watch out for (based on my experiences)
keep a good eye on unis, they tend to fail quickly on road vehicles that go bush?( their is a reason that this will happen)
use low range more than you think , it auto ,makes a difference.
to disconnect traction control just lift one off the wheel sensors, you will get abs fault on dash self reset when put back in place.(sand mode or for doing wheelies)
you didn't mention fuel, make shore you drain the bowsers before you leave you will need it, every drop
PS don't forget to have fun lots of it and don't go first .
I used to do this for power at my shack 30 odd years ago. we used 4 to 5 hp stationary engines of all types , we used pulleys so we could get the right speed for the alternators and charge battery's with them, not direct power out of the alternator. the smart guys tweeked their regulators so they charged better (that's old type regulator not new electronic regulators)don't even know if you can still buy them?
PS you had to tickle them to start charging (put power across the alternator so it would load up)
hope that give you some ideas.
ive had the same problems with replies and that was before I even know of this site.
thankyou for the invite . as toady would say search is your friend , new saying ,where are my friends (crying imoji)
