For some reason folks do get their panties in a twist with ICE circuitry, particularly as far as expected 'hi fi' results are concerned
and I don't know where this particular issue originated from either but I suspect it might be from cross-over filters and the like (?)

Davew- there are literally hundreds of pages of debate out there around solving the problems of the P38s unique (ish) use of balanced lines to feed the door amps as opposed to the usual screened cables.
The Ambler circuit is intended to be an impedance matching circuit/ attenuator to drive the door amps from the speaker output of any old head unit.

Do you have a multimeter? If so you can compare the two.
They're just a potentiometer.
Pins 1 to 3 are the fixed resistance, pin 2 the wiper.
Check that fixed resistance is the same on both
Check that the resistance varies between 1 and 2 and that resistance is similar when throttle is in the same place.
All above done with TPS unplugged.
You can do the same measurung volts when plugged in and switched on, but more potential to fritz something if you short the wrong pins or something!
If resistance maps out and new TPS physically fits, then it'll do the job even though it's a Freelander part...

Seems daft to have to spend so much of your time and effort to sort out what should be a simple problem. Bring back the old suck-squeeze -bang -blow and hammer and spanner of my old cars .....

Even an old banger would run like crap with the equivalent of a hole in the inlet manifold :)

Except, of course, aviation electics all have single coloured wires- usually beige :)
If you get stuck, give me a shout. Doing old cars like that is my "day job". No Nano required...

Here you go

There's someone posting over at Toads place having the same problem. They haven't got an answer that works yet either.

Well that's easy- connect the red wire to the +ve terminal, and the red wire to the -ve terminal
Job done :)

No, but my Matrix is :)

Assuming it's reaching full travel in both directions, I've found that sometimes you have to exaggerate the setting process.
Start in fully up position
Drive to bottom then as soon as it hits bottom limit flip straight to up.
When at top hold it for a couple of seconds.

Got some fiddling time on my hands, so think its about time I refurbished the matrix injectors

Anyone know where to get the rebuild kits for them? Tinleys and LPGShop don't seem to list anything.
Any pitfalls to watch for when dismantling- springs that fly out never to be seen again or anything?

Perhaps we should be more adventurous for next years Summer Camp and have a week burning in the Spanish sun, rather than the Salisbury Plain sun?!

Now, having cleaned the idle valve carefully and replaced the crankcase breather hose that fixes near it, it won't idle at all so I don't know what is happening.

S4, you just have to get your head around the fact that the small demon that lives in your engine ECM had adapted your fuelling and timing etc to suit the state that your engine was in before you cleaned one idle air component and replaced what was probably allowing air into your manifold downstream of the MAF.
Once again, the demon will have to slowly do its thing to adapt to the different parameters.
All is not lost!

Free holiday and fuel costs and I'll even let you plug the Nano in to your car FOC :)

Search RAVE for gatepost repair

As long as your VIN is in the range VA346794 to WA410481 then ERR6119 is the correct part

Let me get some decent pics of the tailgate from him tomorrow Chris. I've got one of the badge (!) but I want to make sure the tailgate's undamaged and unbubbled. I'll call you when I've got them

Smiler's burns A LOT of oil

I bought components rather than a kit.
Can't remember exactly off hand, but matt or nearly matt.
I'll have a look next time I'm over at the workshop.

Good thing yours doesn't use much Gilbertd- you use that expensive quality 0W-60 or something exotic don't you?
With Morat's oil consumption it would cost you as much in oil as LPG...
