Also need to repair the cables to a sensor of some kind installed in the gas side line between reducer and filter. Rubbed nicely against solenoid bracket and chafed through. Sigh.
I'll have a look for TPS connection when over at workshop later. Hopefully won't find one!
I don't like the matrix units just flapping around on hoses as currently installed so will make up some mounting brackets/ heatshields for them, killing two birds with one stone.
I think I'll modify the rail feed pipe to reducer, as you suggest, to tee from the centre rather than reducer side of engine.
The hunt for the missing "N" continues...
It's pre LPG jets and petrol injectors so will only have a theoretical impact on the air side of things. If on a race engine I'd look at a risk of the longer throat leading to increase in laminar flow hence less turbulent air hence worse fuel air mixing.
On a GEMS it would be the same effect as increasing trumpet length (seen as a good thing in the RV8 tuning fraternity). On the Bosch with the bananas, more of an unknown quantity.
The difference should be so small as to be pretty much irrelevant except perhaps on a dynamometer
Makes for shorter equal length hoses from matrix units to jets and it is a tidy install. Done properly, I can't see any disadvantages of this setup. I'll clean it all up, make sure machined surfaces are flat and replace the silicon with a proper gasket.
Tony- have you seen my post in the other LPG thread. Mine's got exactly what you are suggesting fitted!

Only other things that would contribute to bearing wear would be fan out of balance or overtight belt. As belt tension is automatic and fan is a shrouded/ encased blade design you can probably eliminate those.
Another "interesting" feature of the LPG install, is the use of a sandwich plate and a bucket of silicon to lift the upper inlet manifold to clear the pipes. That explains the use of extended studs to mount the upper manifold then!
If there was a way to do it without damaging anything, no P38 owner would post it on the web anyway!
It's in a breakers so collateral damage is unimportant- use a long chisel down the back of the drivers window and smash the plastic part of the latch assembly. Once its broken and the main locking spring has sprung out you should be able to pull on linkage rods until it opens.
As for the tailgate, there isn't an emergency escape latch. Remove or cut the carpeted trim panel and pull on the arms that connect the solenoid to the latches.
Pretty sure I bought either this or the QH boxed version of the same thing. Can't find receipt to be certain.

No leaks, rattles or wobbles after a couple of years
The wiring does look quite badly tampered with! Another blurred pic from the other day, lots of blue tape in evidence:
I see some cable replacement in my future....
Dug through some pics I took the oher day. Appears to have nothing resembling a stamp on the back. Blurred picture doesn't help:
Well, the pressure sensor is external to the ECU and looks like this:
It's a very reasonable price and once I've thrown a bucket of soapy water over mine I'll advertise it at that and it's bound to sell instantly :)
Once the men in the white coats have dealt with the seller of the £15k one, I'm sure they'll be round to take me away to a nice warm padded room...
Fake marble? That's burr walnut with prussian blue highlights :)
I know that 'cos I read it in a book ^^
Now that's a nice looking car and an even nicer price...
Thanks for that. Appeals greatly to the anorak in me!
That's interesting. I wonder what the suffixes (1), (2), (3), (4) mean?
Looking at UK registrations and dates the 300 x 2002 model year production looks like the UK allocation. The 98 and 99 production solely for export perhaps?
The official designation of mine is a Vogue SE A

If you pm me your VIN (don't put it on open forum!) I'll fire it into Microcat next time I've got it booted up and see what comes up, if you like?
The plot thickens then!
I'll have a more detailed idea of what I have when I pull stuff of to get to rocker covers tomorrow. I'll have a close look at how the LPG system is put together.
