Last year I couldn't sync my key to the car to get the remote locking working but I was able to unlock and start the car with the key.

In my case, holding the buttons on the fob with it in the lock didn't work.

Turned out to be a dead microswitch in the door lock.

I had to sell my 3dr ST170 due to practicality reasons. Got a Mondeo instead but it proved to be a complete nugget and it went back after less than a month of ownership. Clearly no one else was impressed with it as they still had it last month (we gave it back last April!).

At that point the P38 became my daily driver :D

Got a link to to the one you didn't buy? Sounds like an awful specimen!

Welcome :)

Your life sounds suspiciously like mine!

P38...
New baby...
Mrs with a Corsa you hate...

Ah, fair enough.

Something gone wrong somewhere?

Which day is the record attempt?

I couldn't see it on the website and it doesn't mention it on the ticket booking page. If we go we'll need to get a day ticket but wouldn't want to get the wrong day.

I have a set of leads in the garage, if it comes back I'll swap them and see if it goes away. It's not done it since though.

Hmm...it was fine on the way home so maybe there's something to the wet coil pack idea.

It did feel like a mild misfire but I assumed it get a fault code/warning light for that.

I don't think it's snow and ice related. It's only noticeable at a complete standstill.

I had large lumps stuck somewhere at the start of the journey that shook the whole car violently at 60mph bit they all fell off and the car smoothed off.

What are the symptoms of a cracked flex plate?

I hope not paying for my good Samaritan act yesterday :(

Drove over to Leicester this morning and about halfway there the car developed a small pulsing shake/vibration at idle. Doesn't seem to always be there though. I'd guess it's about 50/50 if it's present when I pull up to a stop.

Doesn't seem to be gearbox related as it's there in all gearstick positions.

Performance seems unaffected and there are no warning lights.

Thoughts anyone?

Is there any reason to think they are going to kill off LPG?

I've been discussing having mine converted with someone but if there are rumours of the end of LPG coming I'm not sure it's money well spent.

That's the back road out of Uppingham that joins up to the A47 on the Leicester side of town.

Had some fun rescuing a truck earlier today:

I expected it to be a tough job. Multiple snatch pulls etc but the P38 just tugged it free and chugged along happily until we reached solid ground.

Astonishing on summer tyres.

Sorry about your bender OS56, - at least you were were in a RR..

Thanks for your (apparently) life-size picture of a tape measure in snow RutlandRover.

Sorry about that...I'm not really sure what happened. I'm sure the system usually scales such things to fit properly.

We'be had a full 6 inches of snow here and it's still going.

Went out for a drive yesterday and reached a roundabout with the first exit blocked with traffic. I indicated right to take the next (clear) exit and some moron just pulled across in front of me to completely block the roundabout. Sat there staring daggers at the idiot for a good 5 minutes before taking an alternative route. No problem for the P38, round them and up the sloped side of the roundabout and on my way!

Continental something or other on the front and Landsail something or other else on the back. There's no stopping the P38!

Ah, OK. It could well be then, I've only looked at the bits attaching to the heater plate.

Edit: just looked up the part number and the second one is a plastic pipe with short bits of rubber hose.

Is it the brittle plastic pipe that can easily crack on a Thor the same as on a GEMS? I replaced the whole run with 8mm ID silicon hose on mine.

The bits I'm replacing? I think both hoses are rubber rather than plastic.

Cheers guys. What a daft decision by whoever wrote the parts books! Makes sense to me to have it in both places so it could be found regardless of which end of the hose you had a fault at.

If I had a leak at the tabk end id obviously have looked there!

I'm going to replace the throttle body heater plate and gasket (MGM000010K) and would like to replace the two hoses that go to it. I'm not sure of the part numbers though.

I've used the LRCAT website and think one of them is PEH101540 but the image for the throttle body only shows one hose.

Anyone know the part number for the second hose?

No ban for me either, I just prefer it here. I don't think I've put any posts over there since being invited here.
