No snow, a bit of hail last night though. It's a kind of cargo-cult weather god thing, I'm hoping that if I put up a snowy pic the clouds will take the hint :-)
The pic is from last winter when we had a few inches. It's mostly too warm here in the south-west for decent snow.

Random question, but did anything come of the ebay Rangie? I'm vaguely in the market for one now.
Good to see you on :-)
After rebuilding my compressor last weekend it was noisy as all hell. Of course I had the bottom washers upside down! What can I say, it was dark by the time I was putting it back together...
Same as the heater core O rings, as it happens.
22mm diameter, 2.5mm thickness. Someone should sticky that.
I wouldn't worry about a bit of oil lying in the inlet manifold, mine always seems to have a bit in there and it doesn't appear to be pressurising the crank case. It's a leaky rattly old 1960s lump, cut it some slack :-)
Try and lever the front ones from side to side. The main failure seems to be that the metal insert breaks away from the surrounding rubber.
The problem with the "28 piece set" type kits is that they don't have a die that would shrink the bush down. You definitely need something that will squash it down by the three or four mm so it fits into the arm. I'm not sure you're going to do that with a bit of threaded rod, either.
I bought a set of stainless steel Allen screws on eBay when I did my rocker cover gaskets.
I hate to say it, but "vague in the centre and sometimes pulls to the side" is pretty normal. It's a fairly low-tech 1940s setup.
Nope, mine's metallic blue (think it's the same shade as Gilbertd's pimpmobile one, paint code 602). It's GEMS and badged as Vogue SE.
I've seen a few that claim to give a firmer ride and better handling, but let's be honest we don't drive these things for the sporty handling and the ride is quite firm enough!
Even if the engine is toast, you can pick up a decent second-hand one for 500 quid or so.
There are two little clips, one on each hinge. It might be worth padding the windscreen with a blanket or something just in case.
Sorry that was a typo. I've a 4.4 litre L322.
You might find http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/ helpful, they deal with L322 there. On here we mostly have the older P38s, but oh well, since yours is a really early 322 you can stay :-D
Oh you want to watch who you run afoul of here, the mods and owner are right barstewards.
That looks okay. I've just done the track rod and drag link on mine, took about two hours all in (two very teabreaky hours) and I didn't need to take the wheels off :-)
Quite often the bushes look okay until you realise the arms are turned through a slight angle, and you realise you can slide the arm from side to side on the inner sleeve.

By the side of the road Gordon?
Yeah, just pull it into a layby somewhere and drop the old stuff out. You'll need to bring some sort of container with you I guess, and buy a gallon of oil while you're up there.
For 300 miles it's unlikely to make much of a difference.
Change the oil up there.
