thats good news Richard

could be as you say just a thousand of a mill out when fabricated
if I remember rightly the ones on my mates p38 wasn't a tight fit in the alloy they had a bit of tolerance

the spigot slips over the center of the hub but in time they will stick in the center of the wheel.
it seems that when you bolt the wheel back on the spigot will seat it self in center of the alloy rim

thats true my gut feeling is do both
will have to get in touch with garage about the hub nut as there is 2
one is M24x2.0 the other is M24x1.5 and it saying check thread lead before ordering

hi guys just quick question my l320 failed mot on lower ball joint and hub bering both on near side
I've looked on island4x4 for parts is there any other sites people use
plus should I do both bottom and top ball joints or just the bottom one island4x4 can do both ball joints and hub delivered for £110 both ball joints are lemforder

Gilbertd
yeah I am still about
my missus was paying about 800 quid a year on our 4.2 v8 when she went to insure it last month as been of road thats when the price came in sky high
my neighbour has a p38 2.5td and his insurance is about 500 a year I think and that's with multi car insurance so his isuzu pick up is on that insurance to

I agree to I stopped the other day to help a couple who had a flat tyer thier reply was it OK we waiting for the rac to come out to change it as we don't know how I said I don't mind it will save you some time but they still said no
so I got back in my work van and drove off

I know what you mean on your post it a lot harder changing bulbs in my Ford fiesta than what it is on my 06 L320 sport I just pull a couple of latches and the whole head light unit comes out so plenty of room to get to things

mine bounced from 500 a year to 1-3K for the year been showing about cheapest is 800 quid for the year

hi folks been while since been on here
with work and general life been busy not had much time to get on here
any way had my L320 of the road for last year doing bits for mot (plus insurance going sky high) so just wondered how people was doing and do you p38 owners have same issue as me with insurance renewal?

just had my quote on my 06 l320 sport
it's bounced from 400 for the year to just under a grand

@p73990 I've got the same on my 4.2 supercharger it running lean on bank 1 and 2 done same as you did smoke test checked all pipes be interesting to see what your problem is causing the engine management light to come on I can turn mine off but comes back on after it covered a hundred Miles

no will just be towing a horse box mainly

Unfortunately RAVE doesn't cover the Sport so can't look in there. P38 has spare sockets ready to plug a trailer socket loom into, I would assume the Sport does as well. You'll be looking for unconnected sockets lurking behind the rear lights.

A quick check of the parts catalogue suggests you need YMZ500522 which is an expensive way of buying a 7 pin socket with wires and plugs to go into sockets that are already there (somewhere).....

hi Richard I've got two socket holes in the rear behind the cover so presume they both for the sockets I've been looking up and looks like I need a 7 pin and a 13 pin socket as connecting to a trailer with led lights make the sport electronics play up

had a look at my 2006 sport tonight a friend lent me a detachable tow bar went to fit it but found I have no light sockets in the rear hidden panel
how easy is it to fit new ones and would be have to be a full rewire

what year and engine is your p38 ?
and where are you based someone on here might be near to her and could do diagnostic tests
the srs light could be loose wire under the seat
some times the lights come on when battery voltage is low
or could be faulty abs sensor

just a update people
After a couple of phone calls to @Gilbertd I found out it was the dust cover on the half shaft had been put on back to front when some previous work had been done on the hub of the range rover

Looking at the pictures in the parts listing, I can't see what that bit could be. Is it towards the outside (wheel side) or inside (diff side)? The reluctor notches don't appear to be central in the hole so something isn't quite right.

it the rear of the hub so closer to the diff side
Once get break in the weather I'm going to take passengers rear off and see what the difference is

it like the hub flange is not in the right place or the hub has been done up to tight

thanks I was using my phone to upload from imgbb.com
