I found this out today.

Pulling the headliner out the boot to store it until re covering knowledge is found and the drooping fabric caught on the back headrests and covered the boot in the sticky madness....

my old D2 had twin sun roofs..that was more a mobile shower

Absolutely beautiful

Huh? There should only be one anyway. LH side of the car.

New headlining material is foam backed so the rotting remains of the foam needs to be removed from the shell. Wire brush works well.

Yeh left hand side was connected using a cable.

The right hand side was just stuck on but no cable

PS: I have never imagined the battery stay had a clip for that pesky bleed pipe .... thanks for the info!

Always a pleasure to be of some service 😀

Hello and welcome

Bloody marvellous idea. Dont know alot about the 300 thing. Cut my teeth on a TD5 D2. But hell why not stick them in something big with a nice green oval on.

Plus if she can weld then the D1 is a great match

We have a winner.

Your prize is...you get to answer the next question

Is one of the internal sensors suppose to be a dummy as there is only one with a connector

Ps iv removed saggy headliner. Is the foam OK to recover or will that need replacing aswell

As many will have seen. This old girl of an early P38 is bit of a project. Slowly but surely.

Today found a metal bracket under a seat. Completely loose.

Not sure what it is

When you say short ?

Just connect one pin to the other with a bit of wire.

The obd is reading so does that mean the thermostat will still work like it should ?

New problem

Coolant temp needle on the dash moves up off the starting point but then doesn't move.

Yet cheap plug in I have. Says temp up to 89

Yeh that makes sense

Ordered.

Will that be stopping power to the steering wheel all together. Hence the srs light aswell.

Or does the missing relay purely stop the horns working

enter image description here

I have the horn relay missing in the fuse box. Will this also control any power to the steering wheel.

Need to source a replacement but looks smaller than the rest

The info button doesn't seem to work, then again the horn does work aswell.

Any related fuses to check out or do we reckon that something has been cut or pulled out for the sake of it ha

Just when I was about to put some trim back

Yeh that sounds right

Thanks guys.

I think iv got cruise control by the looks of it. There seems to be two buttons on the stalk.

An i and a bell symbol.

But don't seem to do anything.

Also got 2 small buttons on the steering wheel. Can't make out the writing. Think one either says et or reset

Yeh thats not a bad shout.

Inside the gems hole in the rocker cover. Does it just smooth out straight into the engine. Or is there a gap at the end of the thread where the filler cap screws up to

Another question.
On a gems engine.

Is the oil filler cap in two pieces

I unscrewed it and the full lot came off.

Then I put it back on and the funnel stayed and then the oil plug came out separate.

Also what does it look like inside your gems oil filling hole haha

marvellous. More fun to have
