Ha thanks rich. I'm colour blind. Don't be mean. I genuinely didn't know it was blue. It wasn't listed as that on ebay. I just thought it was mucky til I wiped it and it didn't match haha

That would make sense with the thermal cut out. Can that would be replaced or is it new compressor job

If I break the bridge off and it doesn't run. I guess that will prove a point.

Il try again with the fault codes then. But certainly need to look at the thermal cut out.

Is a 2nd hand maf better than a cheap Chinese New version

Fitted new bonnet release cable and found a library of compressor faults but at least i can fit a grill.

On a lighter note me and my apprentice fitted new bonnet cables and refitted more interior trim.

She is coming along nicely haha, even though her mum wants her to be a bit more girly

any guesses the from lads down the pub

the heights are all over the place. They never sit still.

I know there is a slight leak on the rear bags but even in access mode it leans to the right heavily

Upon inspection of removing the compressor to see if I have missed anything on the compressor I find this.

Looks like someone has wired a bridge in.

Not sure what the pin does etc

So my adventure of the bodge it project continues.

Got a lovely kicker lent to reset the hard faults. Lovely.

Rebuilt compressor even though it clicks a bit when it runs. It works in a fashion.

However bought the cable and free software to see what the very strange actions are all about.

And if found more bodges I think.

So firstly the faults being listed are as follows

enter image description here

6 side for applications requiring a good dugga dugga from an impact or a big breaker bar.

Multi points are pretty for a shiny set as and when

All look OK.

Will have to try and test the horn units properly. Did not have chance at lunchtime

Perhaps easier to unbolt them and test them that way

Oh no so need a nanocom or something like that to clear the fault

Horn wise I best go looking.

Any fuses for the horns to check or just the relay

Been and re fitted the 2nd hand rotary coupler etc

But no difference still an airbag fault.

Even though the SRS light seems to be flashing rather than just on.

Not sure if it was before. But its definitely flicking now

Also no horns.

Think tomorrow i will try and get 12v to the horns and see if they work powering them direct

Super find Rich

Thank you

I thought it may of been but cant see any lugs missing from the female connector in the air bag compared to the male plug lead.

I will look tonight.

Thanks again

Afternoon

In my haste to solve an airbag and srs light and also no horn.

I read it may be the rotary coupler or clock switch. Whichever term you prefer.

I sourced one and fitted it and in my haste to remove the airbag I did not see which way up the red plug attaches in to the back.

On my D2 the plug could only go in one way. However on the P38 it seems the connector is symmetrical and could go in either.

Without guessing. I thought i best ask if anyone knew

Anything is truly possible especially with a bit of guidance

I had similar problems on my project and I have today replaced the accumulator and it has stopped running everytime I now press the brake pedal and throwing extra lights at me.

Rebuilding one from the ground up seems new territory apart from the one guy selling them to make some extra dollar
