Mine has that cupholder but in Lightstone. I thought it was factory (2001 Vogue). It works well although you do lose some depth from the centre cubby.

The way I do bangernomics is to have N+1 Bangers where N is the number of cars that absolutely have to work the next morning. The +1 is the one I fix over the weekend if it's not running. The cheapest car in the fleet is a Diseasal Golf GTDi which does help the average if not the planet.

Although, the original form of Bangernomics was to buy a car with an MOT for £500 and spend nothing on it and scrap it when it breaks. Clearly we're all a bit attached to our old cars for that :)

They are Klarius - maybe it was a bad batch. The pipes look fine, it's the wadding that's the issue. It might be interesting to find out how loud the pipes are without anything in the backboxes!
Sad news about the warranty but it makes sense. Thanks!

On the way back home after Easter, we noticed the Hairy Exhaust issue had returned. You probably don't remember that I had the backboxes replaced four years ago and the parts had a two year warranty. The first pair were replaced a couple of months outside warranty (Garage was shut during Covid lockdown) and the replacements have now dumper their fibreglass out of the tailpipe just like the first lot.
Is it worth a go to get the new set replaced like the last lot?

I shall be looking out with a keen eye! :)
My Jeep is thirsty too..albeit not quite as much as the Duchess. It's just been a bit of a shock going from 53.7 at ASDA to 107ppl in Salisbury in the space of about three months.

To be fair, there's still one station within 12 miles that is selling at 99.9 - BATA. Possibly it's because they also supply domestic heating tanks.

Still cheaper than petrol though......

Yes, but 33p per mile is not sustainable.

I was for the weekend, but not in a fit state to drive! :)

Hit a new personal record over Easter!

107ppl - but I had to do it was I'd been running on petrol for nearly 100 miles. Full tank 71.02l for £75.99
There was almost nothing between York and Salisbury :(

Brian, thanks for the link. I must admit I gave up on the lpg forum as it was impossible to register again.

It's been tough to get LPG near me for a while but I'm planning a trip to Salisbury so I thought I'd have a look at FillLPG.
There's nothing but black stations out there! Is this a Ukraine war thing? I thought we got our LPG from the local refinerys.

We've just filled the Duchess with Petrol for the first time ever. That was a shock 😅

Those are all good ideas.
I don't know if my front bags had been changed more recently or if they don't get as much salt as the rears, but the front clips came out easily. Just as well because the access is poor to say the least.

Once I'd made the decision to bend the front of the arch liners down under the wheel hubs and ignore the horribly rusted mudflap hardware, life was OK.

;)

Yes, I think that's where I ended up too.
Anyway - all done. Time for a beer!!
Pollen filters and a new H1 headlight bulb tomorrow. Happy days :)

I had HID in my BMW E30. They had early projector lamps and it all worked perfectly - I wasn't flashed in 4 years. The MOT guy hated them, but there wasn't any specific rule against it back then. He would always give an advisory with something like "headlights take a long time to warm up" 😀
If the beam pattern had been 1mm off I'm sure I'd have had a fail.

First one done!
Time for a cuppa.

I spent more time trying to get the wire through the hole in the base of the spring than anything else. It's invisible if you're working on your back :/
The new plastic clips for the wheel arch liner seem to be too big, although they're probably not. I've got 4 secured out of the 6 holes. That'll have to do!

That's a great job on the seats!! Welcome :D

I could lend you one for a few months! It would save you from any financial loss! :)

Leaving aside the fact that you're unlikely to get an unbiased answer on this forum ;)

I'd stick with the P38 over L322. The L322 has a lot more internal space but that's the limit of its appeal for me. They are at the stage of a car's life where they look old rather than classic which is where the P38 is starting to get to. IMO, of course.
Also, in my opinion again, the L322 has always looked a bit too blingy for me.

I'm sticking with a P38 as long as the rust stays away. I can't fix rust and I don't intend to learn. Other stuff I can bolt on myself or pay someone to do it without having an aneurism. If we get to full engine rebuild territory, I may have to eat my words. Having had a quick squizz through Ebay last week, there are plenty of rust free P38s popping up. I suspect it's due to the fuel crisis. It would be a shame if they all went to the scrapper.

Rgr. I've got the metal clips for the bags, I was talking about the arch liner clips. I've just got 10 off the bay of E so thanks for the offer but I should be OK with a bit of luck!

I'm sure I'll find something else to do with the wood chisel some day :)

I have big hands. Hmm. Are they those bastard plastic clips? (ANR2224) I might buy a set before I start...
