Hello Chaps..

Where about's is the engine identification number?

Cheers H

Creating an LPG section here would be a great idea IMO!

As it seems quite a few if not all the RR on here have the systems fitted!!

H

Oh and this is a pic of the complete interior!!

it's been a while since it's been together lol

enter image description here

I think she has been a tow cow for most of her life...

So the 3.5t towing limit has been met and surpassed quite regularly imo lol

In Jan the real issues started..

enter image description here

it showed heavily and thats when the door lock actuator started playing up!!

I managed to move her around the property around february'ish?

and she has sat since..

now covered in a layer of sap and leaves!!

I haven't been too mobile since undergoing surgery and the front doors have now locked themselves!!

I've pulled the actuator out of the door several times..

Her issue started after i tried to open the tailgate, i heard a buzz and then started to smell some burning!!

I managed to pull the fuse cover from under the drivers seat and found fuse 15 had melted!!!

Immediately i replaced it, only for the new fuse to instantly explode upon touching the terminals!!

enter image description here

I had to disconnect all the wiring in the tailgate to stop the fuse from blowing!!

enter image description here

enter image description here

enter image description here

I know don't understand either lol

This is how she has sat since FEB,,

enter image description here

unfortunately i don't have the cash nor time to start at the moment..

But hope to in the future..

Grr

H

After this i took her into some fields to test the legendary RR offroad capability and see what was whining at me during the drive home..

enter image description here

enter image description here

there is some suspect whining and there is a large amount of play in the propshafts..

Oh and the gearbox has a faint whine in park and neutral so i think the TQ is getting tired!!

Apart from that she needs a ground up rebuild lol

Cleaned her up again!

enter image description here

enter image description here

next was this rather cheap and TBF rather nice HVAC walnut inlay..

£5 bargain!
enter image description here

Before...

enter image description here

After...

enter image description here

. enter image description here

looks smart IMO..

Another bodge was the state of the intake boot!!

enter image description here

It was cracked and missing the little plenums off the bottom!!

So a new one was sourced!

enter image description here

Another thing i noticed was a lack of Oil!

so a service was carried out..

enter image description here

Nice fresh Oil..

enter image description here

The engine was silent on tickover, which was surprising considering the state of the fluids!!

I haven't had the time to start a thread about my beloved P38...

Many people have said it's a waste of my time etc etc but i'm determined to get this P38 upto concours of somewhere near.. Hopefully.. lol

Here are some Pics i took featuring some "upgrades" i added.. lol

The Below Pic was taken just after me and my dad picked her up..

she drove the 45mi ok but i did notice a high pitched whine coming from around the transfer case area
enter image description here

After getting her home i performed a good clean up to asses the bodywork..

It was/is clear that she has spent a large amount of time under a tree because the paintwork was filthy and the sunroof was gummed up with plant sludge..

After..

enter image description here

enter image description here

enter image description here

She may look ok'ish in the pics but be under no illusion, she requires a full respray to get to a state i'll be happy with...

The previous owner said he had caved in the rear quarter and had it "repaired"

I'm sorry but what stretch of the imagination is this a repair?!

enter image description here

There is also evidence of rear arch rust..

enter image description here

Full of filler!!

Can't wait to see what she looks like when done!

When you're finished you can repaint mine he he he lol

Watching with interest.

Are you doing the entire job outside or do you have access to a garage/paintbooth?

Also what does the HLR badge signify?

It would seem this thread would be a good place to resurrect this one https://rangerovers.pub/topic/193-archives-and-posting-pictures-documents

Can't you see the above pics?

They seem to show ok to me?

I've been trawling other lesser RR forums and they have threads didicated to Pics and i dawned on me that we should have a thread on 'ere dedicated to showing off our beauties.

After all I like looking at Range Rovers ;)

This pic was taken just after i got her, july'ish 2017.

enter image description here

enter image description here

And the same day after a good clean and polish.

enter image description here

enter image description here

She looks a tad worse for wear at the moment.

However i plan on giving her a strip down and full rebuild in the future.

Damn, the L322 hasn't aged well!

Agree 100%

The 322 looks rather fat and tbf its a huge curb crawler!

not the multipurpose beauties our P38s are lol

I intend to keep mine forever.

I'm willing to bet it'll be buried with me ;)

Also intend to have a P38 collection XD

Ideally.

1 My current P38

2 Bonatti grey Vogue SE

3 An early CVC 4.0 manual

4 Overfinch 630r

Hmm i can dream lol

Bonatti grey is a lovely colour and if it was my car and money that's what i would paint it in.

I believe it was added to P38 production quite late.

It's a more common on the L322.

enter image description here

enter image description here

I wouldn't personally pressure wash a P38 engine bay.

I Use several damp cloths covered in APC.

Afterwards Mop up any mosture and spray Autoglym vinyl and rubber care everywhere!!

It makes everything look new!!

Grounding the green/red wire should simulate operating the CDL switch in the latch and cause the doors to unlock.

Thanks!

Is there any way i can re-open the doors?

All advice is greatly appreciated.

I've removed and refitted the lock quite a few times, each time i've had to unravel and re solder the separate wires!

Why would the previous mechie do this?

Is there a known fault with the block connectors?

It might be worth popping the connector in your photos apart and checking what the pins in there are like.

All the Pins look rather nice..
