This is gems I think ----- OPs stated THOR so NOT a stepper motor π
Idle control valve ---- but I'd cure leak 1st though
The leaking can effect revs --- temp sensor reading cold so alters mixture to run richer- higher revs π
Picked up another discovery 1 300tdi today BUT this one got sunroofs (no leaks)and bars & auto --- got it cheap due to London chargeΒ£18 per day FFS Comes with 2inch lift kit fitted & uprated gearbox(Alston's) This week I'll fit leather interior then put in autotrader ps vogue still being the shiny blue beauty --- left 2weeks still suspension stayed up and 1st start π
Took vogue out to get interior all cleaned and painted rust onto the 300tdi --- looking good as rust appears --- ratrod style ππ
It's all to price any non electric vehicle off the road ---- yet they are seriously dangerous --- in accident can burst into flames and can't be extinguished & damage to planet for materials for batteries BUT government doesn't care about that----- maybe MPs got shares in EV sales ----- I will just buy cooking oil for my discovery ---- they could simply put 1p on liter of fuel to fund road issue
Quiet land rover day ---- water pump change on P38 DSE . Alternator change on discovery 300 TDI Having a break then got brakes on 4.0 V8 to do -------. I'll be glad to go to work for a rest !!!!
Washed/polished the vogue as it's in a classic car show tomorrow ---- have to admit the old bus looks great ---- sure it got bigger ---- took all day ---- definitely better to drive them than clean them
Got 1 yesterday as a breaker HSE came in so took it for the vogue
I bought one over a year ago for my vogue and got a full led light kit for interior/puddle lights ----- really good compared to the dim interior lights
For some reason I can't get link to work but that doesn't matter ---- just needed the name so can get 1 for the P O S ππππ cheers for the help ππππ
I stupidly used the vogue today and broke the fold down plastic panel that comes down with the tailgate ---- need to know what it's called so can get a replacement ---- all the hinges broke off the thing
Autosol chrome cleaner polish which comes in a tube like toothpaste is probably.best to use ---- I've even got rid a paint scratches with the stuff
Nobody seems to realise the environmental catastrophe caused by mining for the metals required for batteries for electric cars ---- I'll keep my disco and my collection At least I'm helping the environment that way
You might as well get used to running petrol as lpg is not econical for stations anymore ---- that's what I was told couple of years ago at my local station ---- I run my 4.6 as a daily for ages but now just not worth it at 17 mpg
Sounds like either low oil level in box or gearbox ECU gone bad ---- I had a diesel come in that was reluctant to change gear --- I reset xyz switch & cable--- still the same so tried replacement ECU --- done the job
Very interesting thread --- I've used my bosses defender --- that's got Steel Seal in it and everything seems ok as far as heater concerned ---- it's not like Radweld ,that stuff definitely seems to block any small capillaries like heater matrix's ----- The vogue of mine had same issue of O ring letting go --- the aquavac hoover worked overtime to suck up the coolant ---- the electrics got soaked too dried out with electrical cleaner and airline ---- took most of day just to do that --- probably worst job on a P38 for anyone not a contortionist
Had a vogue today that was a bit lagging in performance ---- all I did was used MAF cleaner and fitted new throttle potentiometer That cured it ---- it was a Thor like mine
As a thought running a thick oil can effect V8 mine runs like yours on 10/40 but definitely better on 5/30 I think it is to do with hydraulic lifters not filling ----- seems silly I know yet true
Have you checked the butterfly valve in throttle body is actually fully open when gas pedal is right down---- cables do stretch
