I check fluid levels every Saturday ---- few minutes can save on big bills

Pity can't use their heads to play football with ---- sounds like a PITA of a job sorting out the problem ---- well done to you for time and ability to do it 👍👍👍

Spent today building a 3500/4600 V8 hybrid basically a 4.6 with a distributor and 4 barrel carb with hilift cam solid lifters and big valve head's --- it's for a mates mk 3 2 door Cortina --- should notice difference to old 3500 I hope

You could try Roverviews 07932141966 he's got 3 diesel engines 2 manual 1 auto out ready to go

Well it's a P38 so it'll soon return or develope another one 😁😁😁

I think it's backlash from digs and drivetrain

My vogue had CVS done and props are fine yet mine clunks when going from forward to reverse ---- in fact I know of 3 V8s that are the same ---- I gave up and live with it

You can always just make a still and run on moonshine ---- plus you could sell surplus as paint / varnish remover ----- it's not illegal to make it either

There's a fella in USA who is buying all the 300tdi engines and gearbox's he can for replacing the V8 ---- I'm not keen on electric & I'm glad Thatcham scientists have realised going electric isn't that smart ---- like what to do as far as recycling or repair goes

I'd check wiring from battery to solenoid on starter ---- sounds like starter issue

That's why I put my collection through MOT --- at the end of the day we are human and can miss things ---- my consul failed only once --- no handbrake fitted ----- tester got in it and didn't know chrome T handle under dash was hand brake ---- when I came back to collect --- showed him how it worked ---- he passed it afterwards -- didn't like red rear indicators though ----- Not only should old vehicles have some form of safety check but tester needs understanding of old vehicles

If you had time you could weigh individual Conrods and make sure they are all same weight --- same for pistons ---- you would be surprised at variance on some engines ---- you can get special rebuild oil ---- it's expensive but worthwhile

I get my parts from Roverviews --- most recent was new covered roof panel-£70 ---- cost me that for kit

Could it be the transfer neutral setting ? Had a defender strip teeth between gearbox/transfer box

Gave vogue a good clean inside so tomorrow take it for trade in on a Volvo

Yes but I'm saying 60 year old vehicles no MOT ---- I don't agree with dvsa saying old classic vehicles are well maintained --- had guy moan about mye putting V8 in rover p6 he got quite angry ---- on way home his tyres burst --- they were 20yr old 🙄🙄🙄

The reason you run engine at 2000rmp is to reduce loading on cam lobes 🤗 low revs =drag=friction---- heat 🤗

Well that's fine but I cannot believe vehicles from 1960s and older are not except --- I still take my MK2 consul for MOTs even though it doesn't have too ---

My company gave up using BMW diesels due to the use of plastic pipes and inlets --- couple of weeks ago I signed off 11 m57 diesel's for scrap We use Toyota diesel's now which is convenient as I've built 1 for car use 4.6 32valve twin turbo

I live near BMW mini plant ---- years ago it was British Leyland ---- the might shift used to take sleeping bags to work
