Because it a range rover not a jeep 🤗
Went to Roverviews yesterday picked up new rad & hoses for vogue Also got headlining panel from scrapper ---- freshly recovered 😲 cheaper than buying kit ----- took parts to him for resale Today start doing hoses on vogue ready for it to be in local classic show on July 4th
For a moment was expecting someone to say they ate 2000 topics 🤣🤣
Every so often I use simonize leather cleaner on damp cloth then buff up with another dry cloth Then mainly baby wipes --- I found the autoglym stuff gave me a rash ---- but that's just me 🙄
Welcome to the mad house ---- you got different range rover to us we got p38s amongst other things --- myself got discovery 1 3 door V8 + 300 TDI But stick around we try to help each other ---- like a big family
Spent today fitting supercharger off mercury outbound to Thor 4.6 ---- manifold from R&D fitted spot on Next step is see what programmer manages to do with the ECU ---- it's really cool when the bosses let you experiment

Hi All
I wonder if this is the place to put this ???
As a COMPLETE NEWBIE to Range Rovers, (Always shied away from them, tooo many bad reports about bad electrics and suspension)
My girlfriend LOVES THEM! . . . So . .. . we got one . . . lovely drive, I have to say!
The CD Player has decided to give me ""NO CD"" when I press the button for the auto CD Changer (located in the boot)
On another forum, (Yank) they advise me to get a new CD Player !?? . . .
Another one suggesed blowing air through the thing, (THAT idea has NOT worked) . . . There is a cheapy Genuine Range Rover CD Player on eBay . .. .
Any thoughts of trying to repair my one, or purchase the cheapie on eBay ??Thanks
Geoff
Or just put cd cleaner disc in every so often 🤗
Had a pig of a day fitting turbo & intercooler /injectors / water pump / new tensioner assy Now I know why I prefer V8 to DSE
That would be lambda sensor fault causing rough idle
What everyone seems to forget ---- how much damage to environment just getting metal for batteries And when old - what to do with old batteries Also they probably cost more than vehicle would be worth ----- I'd stick to old petrol engine and make alcohol to run it on like biofuel
If you take inlet hose off Thor and cut off those expansion boxes and seal holes left with discs cut from coke can and epoxy resin ------ increases throttle response & don't get flat spot at 3500rpm 👍
Easiest way to get power is 4.0 litre pistons 4.6 rods n crank --- cam and Rhoades lifters ported heads ----- whether it's worthwhile in a brick on wheels is open to debate --- personally I'd save my money ---
Depending what lift / duration camshaft you plan to install --- cost goes up because you need new lifters and probably rocker shaft spacers ---- didn't mention Vernier timing gear --- As you see Can get quite expensive Depends on cam fitted
My 1962 ford consul 375 has 3 speed column change --- bench seat no seatbelts took me 6 months to do all the work including sewing up a red/yellow interior ---- I've left it unlocked at numerous places & never worried about it getting stolen as not many people can do column change ---- can't sell it for toffee ---- so think it might a future 4x4 project
The 1965 Rover 2000 I've owned for 30 years now has Buick 300ci motor in it Seriously mental ( was factory experimental Australia car) been offered £10k turned it down as granddaughter got it now
P38 vogue SE put away for a while so can concentrate on P38 pick up and 3door disco v8
I've got Lockheed rotors and ebc pads and braided hoses ----- I've always fitted braided hoses to my vehicles ---- personal choice I suppose
Rear passenger door light switch not working so took lock out / stripped locking mechanism and cleaned up tiny contacts ---- reassembled and working now ----- why not just fit a normal pillar switch beyond me
When you look at p38s for sale some are roughly £1300 average yet some are advertised at £8000 ---- can't understand why as they're going up slowly in value but people only keep on about air suspension or overheating on V8s so can't see them going up silly like classic has ---- Original Discovery 1 going up faster
I would have thought there would be a few 4.6 engines kicking around due to liners and gas mileage ------ don't scrap V8 make into coffee table and sell on eBay ---- easy
We use heat on mercury engines all the time and some are chev V8 based !! Threadloock used will need heat or ain't happening as far as removal goes ----- bolt heads are 5/8 or 16mm Done so imperial or metric can be used
Leave heads alone your water leakage WILL BE RAD ----- I kept finding small puddles under vogue it was rad & fan blowing it around ----- soooi bet your rad let go --- the tubes in rad are billux ----- got bigger tubes in a Morris minor rad 🙄
