Damnit Gilbert. I knew you'd ruin it. Lol. I thought I was on to something there.
How about constantly rubbing the battery then? Works on a tv remote!
maybe this is an obvious question but i'm gonna ask anyway.
Why can't you put an alternator on an electric car? It would be self charging wouldn't it? Never need charging again.
wow! That's the cleanest engine bay of all time.
What'dya clean it with?
Nice. No inside shots or is it full of crisp packets and fag ash?
lol. you actually messaged him?
first one, i was thinking scam to be honest. something not right.
I'm not a fan of the green in the SE. The one at my local scrapyard was same and i went to see if i could get the door cards and bits for OB but it had been well and truly picked over by the time i got there again.
The guy tells you how good his car is. No expense spared. He was using it up until last week. Except he's listed it as a TD6 when it's actually a 4.4 V8. Perhaps he's not been under the bonnet recently. I thought at first it could be a genuine mistake with the fuel selection from a drop down menu, but then he specifically types TD6 Vogue. Then goes on to list a catalytic converter.
Seems too good for 3k with major listing errors and 0 feedback.
Think the Noel Edmonds link might have devalued it. No lpg neither so that's 2 bad points. Lol
Nice colour though.
lol @ Morat. You live in prime caravanning territory. Rife with it!
not got any bits yet. Shops are shut by the time I get in.
Will the HVAC clear itself if the fault is fixed or does it need clearing?
"Seems you may have fixed your problem by simply cleaning the earths. Can't see how the original alternator would have fixed itself".
That was my way of saying I don't think there was anything wrong with it.
the old saying is "buy cheap, buy twice". Big alternator on p38's. I was lucky enough that the previous owner of mine treated the car to a brand new bosch one about 3 weeks before he sold it.
Seems you may have fixed your problem by simply cleaning the earths. Can't see how the original alternator would have fixed itself.
You checked the voltage drop since?
Fingers crossed you're sorted.
I can't see the benefit of having no door handles. As if P38's didn't have enough potential problems, some bozo has created a whole new one.
I'll get the contact cleaner tomorrow. No risk of an airbag going off in my face I hope. That would ruin my day.
re: the heated screen. Am I right in thinking that there are 2 relays? 4 & 5?
Thanks very much Morat.
The heated windscreen I knew about. Only works half way across. Clears the passenger side lovely but the drivers side has a cataract.
I wasn't aware of any blend motor faults. I thought it all appeared to work as it should. I'll scrutinize this.
The Heater temperature core is the one I think kept chucking the book symbol up. Comes on exactly as car gets up to temperature but if you switch car off and on again, no book. Book wont come on again until you've let car cool down right down and then get back up to temperature again. Is the heater core sensor the one under the dash on the pipe???
I'll have a look at connectors for airbag as Gilbert says. Airbag light has never come on though. As Morat said, just don't crash if it comes on. lol
Since I fixed my leaky injectors, I did my own lpg calibration. I had a couple of issues to begin with with P0174, P0172 and P0175 but I thought that they would clear once my LPG was running right, which I think it now is. So as Marty says, they are just logged.
i see. I was under the assumption that you could put the glue on the dash, and then spray the activator on the part you want to fit.
In which case, i'd use a contact adhesive. I buy it from Yorkshire trading or wilkinsons.
could you not work along it with the mitre mate? put the glue on the whole surface, and then spray the activator on as you're working along it.
