As long as you have tracking numbers and photos of the head you returned you should be fine.
Best of luck!
I know nothing about the state of the market for rover V8 cylinder heads but I document absolutely everything I do on eBay.
Messages, proof of postage, photos of condition, photos of packaging. You basically need to provide a full chain of evidence at every step.
If you do that and use PayPal you've got them over a barrel.
There are some slippery people out there :(
hehehe. Well at least it doesn't say "HALFORDS" on it.
Hah, yeah. My Wife asked if we could push the rangie up the verge onto the "Grassy Knoll" while it wasn't running. I was polite but firm :)
The hankook is in and it even fits under the stock battery strap thing with only mild swearing. I'm chuffed. Thanks for the heads up!
Mine is OK. Not fantastic but it works. I do have a blower motor out on the driver's side.
BMW HEVAC is usually heroic. My E30 would roast you alive if you put it on full heat, the E46 would have you reaching for a jumper on a hot day in France in July (39 degrees C).

If the picture of the HB019 on the website is anything to go by, the terminals are the wrong way round........
Reviews suggest you'll need the Hankook link sooner than the 3 year warranty would suggest.
More "Forum Points" for Richard.
The terminals were indeed the wrong way round and the battery is back on the shelf at Hellfrauds awaiting the next vict..er.. customer.
Hankook's finest should be arriving tommorow and in the meantime I'm driving round with the Jeep's battery and a set of jump leads in the boot. I'm consoling myself with the fact that we'll be running a better battery for the same price.
Or use a windmill instead! :)
Woah, that Hankook is the Daddy! I'll keep that link handy for next time, thank you.
Sadly, I had to get the Rangie back up and running straight away. The jeep is in dry dock awaiting a new fuel pump module from the USA.
I got one of these from Halfords which is still bigger than the last one which lasted week while we were on the narrow boat then died on the second start :(
Hmm next question... can I get a battery from Halford tonight?
Hah.. yes it was!
Thanks ☺
Is this a flat battery?
I get gearbox fault, eas fault, traction failure, abs fault and it won't start..just click click click with the dash lights dimming in time.
Help!
Pffft, amateur :-)
Top Tip:
If it IS a front wheel bearing, it's cheaper to replace it before you end up sacrificing the brake disk to keep the wheel in place as you limp to safety...
:(
OK! well that looks like some very high quality pipe. If it fits, then great :)
btw, I don't hold any copyright on the "Drilled Banana Method" - I just paid the guy who worked it out to fit my LPG.
If I attempted to fit LPG myself you'd all hear about it on the evening news!
While I was away, we had someone from Zycom come up and have a look. They're sure that the repeater is actually being hit by multiple requests from radios to log in with the Smart Despatch software. They reckon there's a network problem which is preventing the login acknowlegement being sent back to the mobile and that causes multiple retries. I'm not convinced it's network, but I'll have to eliminate it before we can do much else.
I had a local garage refuse to do the bearings and demand a full hub... just sayin!
Back from a week holiday and there was the new MAF sitting there looking all shiny and new....
After a quick check online I worked out that EVEN I can fit one.
I also cleared the codes (again) and reset the adaptive values (again).
Much improved. Everything settled down really quickly - in fact I didn't notice any poor running at all this time - and nor did the ECU. I've just come back from 18 miles of country roads with no faults in the Motronic! She also seems a little feistier with the correct fuelling and the flat spot at 3500rpm seems to have gone.
I'll give it a few more miles before I'm certain but this looks like a result :) Then I'll try it on LPG again and see if that needs twiddling to suit the new MAF.
Marty, I saw your email come in thank you - I'll reply soon now I'm back at a PC.

Sadly I can take no credit, but it does seem to work... well it will once I get a new MAF :)

Yep, I'm with you on that. I think there's a problem with the repeater, but I can't quite understand what on earth it thinks it is doing but I'm loathe to call OFCOM unless we're sure there's an external problem.
Thanks again!
