The first one was just for interest. I quite like the aftermarket nav setup, at least as far as you can see it in the photos.

There's a 30th anniversary on too. Only 10 grand. <Sigh>

Neither of them are Diseasels! :)

While I'm trawling ebay - here's another cheap fix for someone :)

Not sure why the MOT guy tested it as a diesel... but hey.

Not that you need another one but I thought you might be interested in the aftermarket Nav which looks quite well done. Nice Oxford leather too :) Shame about the chav-tastic exhausts. (IMHO)

I wish, but there were witnesses and she was already strapped into a stretcher.
I think the original owner of that car REALLY wanted an M5 touring but they weren't available so he made the nearest thing from the option list.

MORE for LPG than petrol? You live in a crazy place :(
But don't be a stranger, or we'll convoy over and invade you :)

Ahhh, you're talking about wing mirrors. They move to the memory location just fine. I misunderstood and thought you meant the driver's mirror which doesn't (but did on our old 5 series of similar vintage)

Hmm, does this mean that the mirror on The Duchess should move automatically? (01 Vogue with memory seats)

Some people are just a waste of breath. I've had the LPG conversation with people who seem to think I'm selling fuel magnets or magic beans. Frankly, if Simon can't talk the guy round to LPG he must be one stubborn mofo ;)

Sadly BMW screwed the pooch with vehicle security and ended up having a LOT of locked and alarmed vehicles being stolen by scrotes armed with an OBDII cable and a blank key fob :(

I know people have been caught out recently by Photobucket deciding that it's actually time to earn some money.
I don't know how competitive it is but I use hosting from easily.co.uk
I have the 5gb package which is way over the top for my needs but the 1Gb thing is £25 a year which should be OK for quite a few How-Tos :)

what you don't get is any kind of web interface or app to integrate with uploads from your phone, but if you can handle FTP then it's a piece of piss to upload stuff and link to it.
Cheers!

Trimming tips.
After you've stuck down the material (don't get too hung up on getting it into the corners of the grab handle recesses or it'll leave creases in the corner no matter what you do) cut it close to the edge apart from the back edge, the sides running from the back to the C pillars and the front edge by the windscreen.
In those areas you want to leave enough to bring the headlining up and over the edge of the fibreglass and stick it down.
Try and get the sunroof opening trimmed tight to the board because the sunroof surround doesn't appreciate too much material being rammed into the lower channel - and put some clean gloves on when you refit the sunroof surround because it stains very easily and is obvious when you're in the car.

The sunroof blind is easy. Cut it flush at the back, leave an inch at the front so you can wrap it up and over to glue it down at the first horizontal raised plastic lip (you'll know it when you see it). For the runners, there's a raised plastic line on each side about 1/4" inside from the edge. Outside this is the part that slides so try not to spray it with adhesive and trim back to those lines with a really sharp knife to leave bare plastic for the blind to slide on.
Enjoy :)

There was an Ascot edition Classic so I suspect that's where the badge came from.

I meant blueplastic 😀

Are you interested in a sorted One? 😀

I think the grey ones are pretty good, although one might smell of barbeque a bit from last year ;)
I was very careful not to drip ketchup all over it...

Gilbert - that's a hell of a lot of motor for £620 and I'm sure you'll have it running like a sewing machine in a couple of months. Nice one :D

Holy crap - no wonder you've been quiet!
Really glad you got sorted out. I felt rubbish leaving you hanging but my pink ticket had expired :(
And you didn't really want me watching and making dumb comments until 4am did you?

Thanks for showing me how to fit and adjust a P38 sunroof and thanks for fettling the Duchess. She's been sleeping soundly ever since :) Great result.

I think the heat took quite a bit out of people this year. I've still got a sore neck from being out in the sun trimming round headlinings and I never usually burn in the UK - even when I venture south! Anyway, that San Miguel in the pub afterwards was freezing and bloody marvellous - and I don't normally drink lager.

Cheers all!

I could when the pair of you were following me. OB's headlights were a bright white but not dazzling in my mirror (so obviously set up properly) whereas yours were decidedly yellow looking. A bit too yellow looking I thought, are you sure you've got bulbs in there and not candles?

Tallow candles :)

Probably just filthy, and I was behind two dust clouds instead of just one :P

Shed envy!!

Feedback via Gilbert was that he could really see the difference between Orangebean's lights and my stock setup.
