I've cleaned the drains, absolutely no dirt.
However I did find this..
Clutching at straws now...
I've sealed it up there too...
I'll have to wait and see!
Would that cause a leak do ya think?
Would this happen if the sunroof drains were blocked?
I can get water down them, but the rail has to fill with water before it starts to glug away.
Anyone cleaned them out with compressed air?
Hmm
Seems the XS 10w40 has more Zinc calcium and Phosphorus than the motorsport stuff..
However being a full synthetic its VI is better..
Yep locks garage is still there.
according to the google!!!

Or if he really felt inclinded to do so, get a Skid unit installed somewhere and use that. Birmingham autogas were doing them last time I was in there though think its a fair lump of cash up front for one.
Does that mean the coop on Holmer Road in Hereford no longer does gas?
Bottles probabbly not realistic unless he can find a cheap supplier about local enough for him.
And agreed - that oil looks bloody awful for such a low mileage.
Yep the garage was overhauled and subsequently the LPG was removed to be fair LPG isn't worth the faff and expense, no one around me does it.
The Oil does look bad but in the light it is still a gold colour.
Can't explain it Richard but ears don't lie!
I've been running on petrol as LPG has completely gone from my area..
And she's going 23mpg on Petrol compared to 13mpg on LPG
New Oil of choice!
Took a leaf out of Morats book and god myself some Comma stuff!
Now ever since I put in 10w60 it has had a top end rattle when hot, which has annoyed me since putting the stuff in, and at near £90 for an oil change it did disappoint..
Comma was £18 for 5l so x2 £42 for a service, including the filter.
Old stuff out
Old filter off
New filter primed
And spun on
Plug in
New oil in and on my trip to work I did note the engine sounded better, with the 10w60 Edge it had a slight top end rattle even when hot, which I didn't like..
With the new 10w40 it is back to being near silent! ;)
Very happy with that, a right result..
well worth the freezing.. ;)
Oh and the old stuff 4000mi old.
What does it do?
On the road to work it is a winding B road which is quite nice to fling the old bus around, the only issue is the TQ lock up which under light throttle kicks in at 35mph which is a pain in the arse especially when the engine just bogs unless I give it 1/2 throttle to make it kick down, the issue then it it will immediately change back up!!
Another annoyance is when I let off to go around a bend or for a blind hill, it changes up mid hill which is a pain in the arse.
In my other automatic, Sport mode stops it locking up the TQ does it do this with the p38?
Never used S in the P38 to be fair, does it make any difference!
cheers H
Right..
I'm stumped.
Pulled the trim off the top of the windscreen, and fucked every clip as it happens.. ARGH!!!
Anyway...
The windscreen is still very much bonded to the car no air gaps, I ran a bead of arbomast around the seal anyway just in case there were any cracks I couldn't see.
There were no holes in my roof, or any missing seam sealer, however the seam sealant looked to be heat/weather cracked. so i gave that a going over too..
I do wonder about this car sometimes.
time will tell!
After a week with the car cover on the roof is bone dry don't feel happy putting a cover on it every time I park it!
Alt is dead.
And being that the battery was still fubar'd after a 24hr charge i'd add one of them to your list too.
Ohh L322?
or a classic?
Another Vogue SE David?
Hit this number so thats 5k since march

You'll need to take the glass out. Slide the plastic covers on each side (forward if I remember right) so they come off and undo the two Torx screws on each side that hold the glass to the mechanism and lift it out. The seal is there to keep wind noise down, not to stop water getting in, the drains are there to get rid of it once it is there. You'll need to drop the headlining out to get to where they are attached to the sunroof cassette (so you may as well retrim it while it is out.....).
Thanks Richard
Mine is missing the plastic runners weirdly.
Is it better to lift it out with the sunroof on the tilt or when it is shut?
cheers!
However I don't get water dripping, it doesn't go down the windscreen or drip onto the carpet. it is just dampness on the top corner of the headliner.
Now I'm pondering how the sunroof seal comes off...............
Hmm yes.
There are drips forming off the bottom of the sunroof frame on the inside..
Hiya gents
The frame and inside of my sunroof is getting what looks like a lot of condensation on it/
I dunno.
No water is dripping down the screen, the carpet is dry too
no water on the carpets I should add.
Ah cheers Chris!
does trim just slide off?
Yep!
This time it is the front corner of the headliner under the sun visor is getting wet, and only on the captains side, the drinkers side is fine..
At the moment..
I've had this before and seemed to fix it, the sunroof frame had rotted and the glass was pulling away from the frame near the rear of the frame, I sealed it however what was happening was water was wicking under the seal and along the inside of the glass, which subsequently soaked the headliner..
I'm thinking of pulling the seal off the sunroof completely and sealing around under the glass, do you have to pull the cassette to remove the seal?
The water isn't running down the screen.
The sunroof drains are clear and all attached, I've poured water down them with no ill effect
Anyone had this?
