Sounds like fun!

Remember the pics!!

Looking forward to the progress!

Assembled a "just in case" supplies box in the boot..
Box matches the colour of the car too!

Dremel in there too!! fits like a glove..

While mucking around in the boot, found the RRC habits die hard.

I want a Vogue SE badge as mine is missing one. I looked at getting one made and Orangebean said he'd got the measurements for it but never got around to sending me them.

I can't bring myself to spend £45 on a badge that looks battered though.

David.

Amazing they ask that much for a gel badge..

Personally i think they should of used the "chrome" VOGUE badge and just plonked SE on the end! LOL

How's the VSE, you got the engine in yet?! "nudge nudge" lol

I'm only allowed out to get shopping..

I enjoy the P38 for the few miles though LOL

Sounds like you had some fun!!

Retirement sounds nice, only 40'ish years left for me!!!

LOL

reset the trip.

more shopping to do..

got an average of...

running on petrol.

ABS plastic would get my vote.

it's the grease in the servo motor for the HI/LO that turns to concrete and burns the motor out..

As Dave3d says it's really a good idea to shift between Hi and Low frequently to stop the grease solidifying.

XYZ switch seems to be atleast part of the issue.

It is common for the input shaft seal on the ZF box to wear, your leak could be ATF..

Found some coolant leaks!

This piece leaks when hot!!

enter image description here

Oh and a nice coating of OAT on the sump!!

Grrr!!

Oh and the outside temp has gone from "toasty" to freezing!!!

I was out in a T shirt yesterday!!

Now in a full coat!!

Hate weather.

Could never get my head around the feature myself..

It is annoying when reversing a trailer as it ends up pointing at the floor, which is no help..

Been disabled now!!

Much the same round here. The big Tesco Extra was ridiculously busy last time I went near there and I'm told there wasn't a lot left on the shelves but our village shop has just about everything you'd need. So with that and a local farm shop, haven't really had a problem. Got a full tank of LPG and just because I could, I've bunged some petrol in it too. Never seen the fuel gauge read over half a tank! Even though I officially retire on Tuesday, as a key worker I've got the official letter allowing me to go out, so I'll be hanging onto that just in case. In saying that, I've already been asked if I will come back as a contractor if needed. As a retirement piss up couldn't be organised due to the restrictions, we had a virtual party on Microsoft Teams last night, 23 people at the peak and it held up perfectly. Quite amusing seeing people all over the country drinking beer, cheaper too as it saved me having to buy a round!

Happy retirement R..

I have a local shop near me which is also a Pez station..

luckily it is 2mi away and is almost always full of stock because it is in the middle of nowhere.

If i venture into town the shops are bare...

Very odd..

Nicely done! How big is the LPG tank?
They threatened roadblocks round here but I haven't seen one yet. I filled up with gas at the big ASDA just outside York (Monks Cross) and they had people standing all round the car park with their trolleys, spaced at 2m. That was a massive queue, I'm glad we've got little local shops out here in the sticks.

It's around 95 litres IIRC which is 75 usable i think?

A49 is the main link road between Hereford and Leominster - my Main fuel station is there as it's 1.04PPL at the moment.

LPG is 56ppl at the Texaco in hereford..

Makes for a cheap running!!

I think the block on A49 is the first of many, akin to military checkpoints!!

Thinking of sticking convoy numbers on the P38's grille!! LOL

Got Gas working..

Been fiddlefucking around with it, and it seems to be running better after 2 new Lambda sensors.

LPG tank is still 1/2 full becoz we now have roadblocks on the A49 which is a pain in the ass, so no driving for me..

Thrown a CTEK battery conditioner on it.. .

MPG seems to be 15 on Gas which isn't bad considering i've been hoofing it a tad..

Rough 1-2 and a very early 4th lockup means i'll probably have to drop the valvebody and clean the shit out of it..

Like i did on my D2...

Grrr....

Apart from that she runs alright...

Changed the Axle oil too

Strangerover:

make a call to Dave Ashcroft at Ashcroft Transmissions. He is very helpful and knows everything there is to know about the 4HP24 box.
Do it under the guise of pricing the options available. He does not bullshit or try to sell you something you don't need.
His advice is always change the MAF first before you go any further.

I'll be sure to give him a buzz..

I do have a MAF "somewhere"

Cheers

Gave the old Bus a good detail..

Wash

It seems it's most efficient at peak torque which is 2500rpm IIRC..

She's running really rather well..
