Having done seats and door trim and sewn a roof lining I can honestly say that £250 for job is very reasonable But with patience and common sense job is pretty straightforward It's not like you have to do lots of sewing
The gems engine is set to run leaner I think --- got smaller injectors and lambda sensors That's just my opinion as Thor got 440(green) injectors (same as my old Volvo 940 300hp) And different lambda sensors 🤔
Got a 4.6 HSE scrapper sorted for roverviews and also got him a DSE at end of the month as owner quit on the stalling -- disco I sold to DSE owner has proved itself so far
Paint a rust inhibitor on it then paint it it'll be easier that trying to repair it in car

replacing sensor with Rover MG sensor
What sensor did you get? My temp gauge has become intermittent, it'll read fine one minute then drop to the bottom of the scale, then recover and read low, then go back up again for a while before dropping again. Cleaned all the contacts between the sensor and the BeCM, checked continuity on the wire, checked the ground then connected a meter to the sensor. One minute it gave 186 Ohms, then 378, then open circuit, then back to whatever resistance it felt like so it's duff. Genuine article is available but only from LR and not cheap.
eBay MG Rover sensor same part number-----MEK 000020
Well done you mate as you said swap the complete thing ---- gets you out of the house for a while 👍 saves a fortune when you do stuff yourself
The rear digs are usually 2 pin and yes the 4.6 does have 4 pin However 4 pin did is stronger --- the housing is the same on both so probably broke housing if 4 pin ---- it's lesser if 2 evils Either brake diff or 4pin brake housing -----I know Tom at Roverviews sends parts abroad Maybe he could help
Put vogue into corner out of the way on stands supports under chassis drain out tank and all fluids removed battery and covered up As only 30 Oxford blue Vogue's made it can stay covered up until it's worth doing for future classic shows
Today I finally had enough of chasing water leakage on the vogue so dumped it in mates yard and using my trusty TDI now ---
I'm surprised td5 torque converter & bellhousing didn't fit P38 box You only need remap because bigger TC bogging engine
Mates DSE blew pump so I used another box with his original bell housing and TC --- working fine
I know pump go bang why not simply put td5 bellhousing into P38 gearbox that way should work
Could the air be leaking from the pump or airline from pump --- only a thought Also I've had leaks from the connector ( on coach doors) but same principle
When I did Vogue's inlet manifold gasket I fitted temp sensor ----- the temp gauge only went up past blue section of gauge ------ well that annoyed me so ended up replacing sensor with Rover MG sensor ---- now it's working correctly--- I'm sure I'm not only one who had this issue ---- part from britpart was problem ---- new one from eBay ---- odd that
Project iceberg-;---- bad name ---- a lettuce
Wonderful 🙄
Pity you can't buy a kit to modify expansion tank --- that would be a great idea --- P38 not cheap when new got all hi tech electronic stuff yet no sensor in expansion tank --- almost laughable really
Did inlet manifold gasket on vogue all bolts were barely hand tight --- don't know who what why when --- still all done now
Still can't figure out why P38 didn't use td5 engine instead of the m51 ---- yet defender did keep td5 never the m51
Check it not O rings to heater matrix if drivers side wet 👍

I had a 375 too. But wouldn't want to go back to one.
Mine lowered and metal flake paint custom made tuck n roll interior I'd never get rid of it --- keeper
