I don't cut filters open to check I'm more concerned about the oil I drain out which I do check ---- but still keeps you busy I suppose πŸ€—I not being stupid but isn't 10/60 bit thick for hydraulic lifters --- I use 10/30 in vogue πŸ€”

I only wondering if switch could be relay stuck --- nothing would surprise me - my HEVAC stopped working heated windows seats etc turned out to be wiring harness under dash πŸ™„

Maybe switch stuck inside so you think it off but not only an idea ---- you have removed the single wire on remote box under rear top panel behind back seat haven't you ---- my vogue would go flat overnight till I did wire unplug

Must be insane as am outside in the light snow fitting a number plate reverse sensor kit --- lockdown boredom is one way to cure a p38 of its troubles I suppose

Your mate is right about 6 cylinder but as for V8 well there's a few odities to take into account like flat plane crankshaft /how balanced is engine built --- my 4.6 vogue is smooth -- like yours Yet my Buick 300(5litre) got flat plane crank high compression pistons high lift cam and solid mounting points ---- rocks like a jelly πŸ€—

PM sent

I know Tom @ roverviews got DSE pumps he got 2 manuals for breaking

I thought if you remove the rear part of pump you need a depth dial gauge and adapter to reset it ---- not that everyday Joe is doing the job --- personally best left to someone like DES who do ours --- not cheap but fully serviced --- I'm sure they could do m51 pump

Marshall8hp yes got plug off eventually had to remove fan/belt and swing generator out of way too
The tool is as BrianH states --- ok mine costΒ£22 but 10 mins to do is far cheaper than a garage ---- even got instructions too

Got fed up with rough running and quirky gear changes on my vogue --- got XYZ setting tool off eBay and set switch Now rough running gone & changes - I can hardly tell as so smooth Oh well only 2 hrs to do it --- don't want to rush 🀣🀣

Just a random thought could the MAF need a clean or ICV sticking (dirty)

Might be different these days but I had an omega on log and when it was hard to start/ lumpy running I had to undo gas feed to injectors and spray carb cleaner in it then reconnect and fire it up ----- something about gas causing wax build up ----- set up I had was zavoll But that 8yrs+ ago

I leave mine in so dumbass drivers hit that not my bumper ---- had 3x bumps πŸ™„ that's Oxford for you Capital of education fool of tards

Land rover don't want to hold parts for 20+year old vehicles maybe Rimmer Bros or britpart do --- I'm only guessing though

Moray I still think it pump or wiring to pump myself ---- if you got log too then maybe system cutting power to pump

Mmmm so reluctant to start could be pump related then like it's not putting enough pressure thru

I would say it's filter rather than pressure as it doesn't stall/lumpy running or even temp sensor ---- if fuel spurts out of the shreader valve when pressed then can't be pressure . Especially as started and ran at 2500rpm

The idea of convertable range rover been in my head but for me I need a work horse --- you know something to carry parts / tools etc and my brother said pick up would be great --- he right so got a cheap P38 4.6 HSE with shot gems as base ---- at 1st wife suggested putting consul on chassis 🀣

No I got idea from a 1931 ford A . when weather is bit better I'll resume --- basically pick up with detachable roof like series landys Only issues weather /time
That convertable is bit ugly especially that wood at rear

Cheers Harv yep 32 happy years my wife likes the collection of vehicles and she offers advice on aspects like the convertible pick up P38 I'm doing
