thats the only thing is the fuel consumption with out the kit on it would be about 18mpg on a good run
I've got the 2.5 dse it's not to bad at the minute it has most definitely taught me about owning a RR
the one I've been offered is a straight petrol no LPG kit on it
they going to let me know price on Monday
think it been stood for year mot was in dec 2020 with 00 miles on test
mot in Dec 2019 it had 154k on the clock
is a SE a good model
@symes to be honest it bad enough with my 2.5td let alone a V8 I'd be worried I'd blow the head on it lol
yeah depends on the oil could be power steering pipe I e not looked under it yet
srs light on dash
horn not working
exhaust back box leaking
and excessive oil leak
all majors for mot
srs/horn not working could point to steering wheel coupler
exhaust is easy enough to do just straight though system from the cats
oil leak could be something simple .
it on a 51 plate and still on air the previous owner hated the idea of springs so had the whole air system reconditioned
do I dare buy another RR 🤔 or just keep with one
was offered a 4ltr V8 on a 2001 plate needs some work for the mot so not to sure if I wanna take the risk
Nice Job there mate I'm looking to do mine so been reading your comments and taken a few tips
didn't cross my mind about the injector both engines are the M51 so no worries about high rev problems
it just a shame I didn't have room at mine or I would of brought the whole donnor vehicle and used it for spares to keep mine on the road
my neighbour has all the timing kit so will be using that to put new one on mine so should just be case of removing of old engine and replacing on to mine
thanks for that I'll have my brother inlaw who's a mobile mechanic with me to help take it off so will take his van with us so will have plenty of tools
is there anything thing eles I should be wary of when removing the pump
morning chaps and chapess
I'm about to undertake a task in the next couple of weeks to remove parts including a injector pump from a donar p38 2.5td (sadly being scrapped) to put on mine I was just wondering what tools will I need to remove it
I've have a friend who has all the tools to refit and time the pump to mine once we have it back
has anyone done this before
I'm going to send my old pump to be reconditioned
charged mine up again as left the radio on silly me
getting old girl prepared for a new fuel injection pump to be fitted so be looking up how to set it up to the engine
it makes you wonder what you get for the price tag and how long does the battery last on it after one charge
@sloth been following your post and can I just say it been a interesting read great ideas to save the main battery on the p38 from being drained down using things in the cigarette ports
What is it with people putting big wheels and low profile tyres on range rovers
I agree with you on that one I don't see the point of doing it either

Hey guys,
I have some windscreen woes - which I'd put up earlier on the thread where I try and loosely document progress/issues: P38 ups and downs
But I now have more specific questions about windscreen removal/refit and I thought it would be better to put them here for others' future reference.
Basically, my original windscreen has unbonded itself down the passenger side and a little way along the top. I have removed all the trims and the windscreen itself is completely 'exposed'. However, no-one in my town wants to come and do a 'homer'. I spoke to a guy at one of the bigger chains today, and they get sacked if anyone finds out....
I'm also an idiot - I'm morally against the principle and waste of just putting a stone through it and calling my insurance company. Hell, part of the rationale of running a 20 y/o car is to keep as much of it as possible - even the windscreen. Even if I do all this, and then get a stone chip/crack next month, I'll girn, but my conscience would be clean.
The workshop manual has some detailed instructions on windscreen removal/replacement (how to prep the old sealant, bead widths and location etc etc) so I'm leaning towards doing this myself. I have a wire saw; I have two or three suction handles; the car is under cover in a garage so there's no weather stress, and so on. I have access to a more-or-less willing assistant.... Someone, somewhere linked to a neat looking 90' blade on a handle, with a pull chain, which looks like it would make a neater job than a wire saw, and I'd be tempted to get one of them to avoid the potential for murdering the trim along the inside bottom of the windscreen (unless this comes out?).
Which leads me to the questions - has anyone done this themselves and got any learning points they picked up?
Does that soft-looking interior trim (front of dash/bottom of windscreen) come out?
On replacement would you just rest the screen on the two tabs highlighted in the pic below, and just lay it down backwards into place?
How heavy is this thing?
Anything else I haven't thought of?
Finally - my instinct is to do this 'properly' i.e. to remove it, and replace, that way you know it's all good. However, it's clearly an awkward job and much of the original bonding - let's say 75% - seems OK. Obviously I've no way of knowing how long it will stay that way, but it could be a long time. Is there any mileage in just thoroughly cleaning up what's there, and running an additional bead of sealant alongside the lengths where the original has failed?
Many thanks!
my advise would be call insurance company first see what they say about if can rebond the windscreen
secondly the screen is a two man job to do as they are heavy to lift and put in place
if you do find someone to help make sure you have the right adhesive to fix the scree in place

Hi Karlos, unfortunately there is nowhere in Ireland where you would get the job done for £250. Or if you can then it will be a completely sh**e job.
thats not good mate don't think it a bad price to get it done
no I might just get him to do it for me and I'll supply the materials

Karlos, to be honest I would have jumped at £250 to do the job, but I would have to see some examples of the persons work. I think that if it is done not very well then I may as well do it myself. I sincerely object to paying someone to do a c*ap job !!
Pierre3.
I have seen the blokes work he is good at what he do he going to do it for less now if I can supply the materials he just going to charge me for his time
