Sad news, my rear left wheelarch is very second hand these days after I brushed a stone wall :(

It’s a bugger when those walls jump out , I had a skip do it to me many years ago.

Anything is possible, but to be honest, the amount of work involved doesn’t make it viable.
I can assure you there’s lots of p38s running round with filler in the rear quarters

Also anyone got any ideas to painting the black trim around the windows? Caught the rear quarter lights one with the sander so just need some touch up really

I’ve been looking at the window surrounds ect, as the newer models have them gloss black with the roof being black aswell.
I’d think there more a satin black, or flat black, either way they’d look good refurbished.
It’s looking good, have you not thought about upgrading the lights to later style ?

Time for a new oil cap, I had the same with my dse, changed it and no leaks

Once the bumpers moved forward I will get it in, ive removed all pumps from the bottle so I could flush, originally thought that rear washer was blocked, but pump had given up. At least I know the pumps are clear of the jelly sludge build up.

Most people have said there’s brakes are increasingly better after a fluid change alone, i was thinking down the same lines as you.
But in nearly 40yrs of driving I’ve never had a calliper leak, I agree with new bleed nipples as it couldn’t hurt, but I’m undecided on rebuilding the calipers.

I got it out ok, but can’t get enough pressure to put new one in.

Amazingly I found the button, it’s black, your welcome to it, pm your address if you want and I’ll get in post today

I’ve got a gear knob, not 100% on the bit you need, I’ll have a look, I think it was a black one, not chrome effect

Found the clip, is it just a tug down ?
Don’t want to get to heavy handed and snap something, what grief just to change a washer pump, grrrr,,
Before take out spots is mentioned, screws are knackered..

If you click on oily bits, mark ( OB ) did a write up on door handles, something that I printed and put in a folder, always handy to have a hard copy 👍

I’ve not looked at the gear mech yet, maybe it’s something else that should be cleaned and lubed, I’ve had 2 door cables break from corrosion, so it’s time to start looking around the car

Cheers guys, seems I’m putting the petrol cutter away 😞

I’m trying to get my front bumper off, the bolts at the front came undone with no problem, the side ones seem to just spin, are they just screwed into the plastic that I can see, or is there a bolt round the back ?.
I’m thinking about grinding them off if there just spinning on a insert.
Any tips appreciated.

Forgive the dumb Q but can you sand the paint to remove the orange peel or will that just destroy the gloss finish?

Just in case you missed it, the wet sanding takes the orange peel effect away, you then compound, Polish, wax.
The first time I sprayed a bike tank, was so proud at how smooth I’d managed to get the paint, was showing my mate a few days later, went to make a cuppa for me and my mate, to then find my mate had grabbed it and started sanding, I nearly punched him in the face, lol

Damn, does that mean my k&n sticker isn’t gonna make me go faster !.
I love playing with the 1litre lot at the lights, I push sport and 2 foot the pedals, there faces when a 2.5 ton 20 yr old car whips there ass is classic.
As to insurance companies and there stupid questions, any modifications?
where does it stop, I’ve got a full stainless exhaust, do I declare that, I’ve got different wheels, led lights inside, I’ve painted different parts of the engine (rocker covers).
Most cars nowadays have alloys, so chances of them being pinched is zero, plus 2 sets of lock nuts.
Yes my exhaust is slightly deeper, but no where near as annoying as the prick next doors capri with cherry bombs,
Every year my insurance renewal more than doubles, each time I do a new policy search and end up back with the same company whose renewal quote has been more than halved again.
Round here seems the parents are all idiots, leasing m tec BMW’s , amg MERC’s and hot hatch VW’s for there 17 yr olds who don’t have a clue how to drive, they’ve all learnt very quickly that I WONT stop when there racing towards me, nor am I backing up..
there the reason our insurance keeps going up.

Might be worth looking at, I wonder what qualifications are needed nowadays to become an rac or aa man, with all these so called technicians who actually know nothing but how to change a battery ect.
You might have a claim for an engine in hand.

You know these things are sent to test you, certainly one to test your patience

You obviously got the knack for changing the bags now

Your system is fly by wire ( no cable) so will need to go on diagnostics., where abouts are you, might be someone nearby with a nanocom that can help.
I’m a little concerned by your hot, and very hot comment, it should sit around halfway on the temp gauge.
