I put that type of clip on my lpg pipes, I had 2 that leaked, went back to the cramped type

Aren't they 6mm thread bolts ? If so I have new ones in 10 mm spanner size. Sure I used them on mine. I'm good for bits, thanks anyway

Mark, I've got a loom I use for connections and a complete loom if you need any bits, let me now

I'm amazed you managed to do them in situ, my shovels won't fit behind there, especially with the lpg cooling and loom in the way,,

Funny how you all seem to think my headlights gonna melt, let's have a look at the bulbs,, which one has a fan to keep it cool ? The LED, so what happens if that goes kaput, hmmmm, think it might overheat. mine is a standard type bulb, in a metal holder, I've used these bulbs (100w) since the 80s and never had a problem.. in your home I can understand different wattage,as holders are different materials,, I've never seen a headlight with a max watt sticker !

70 quid for 2 bulbs, are you crazy ? I'll stick with my 100w xenons, 6 quid, get the same look and a great beam, plus lifetime warranty on the bulbs.

It needed some gentle persuasion then !

My rear washer gave up a year ago, I've never had enough enthusiasm to sort out which nrv is buggered,, on the to do list

Now we'll see if the mods "over there" read PM's as well.

Some bloke who's just bought a '38 in the Philippines was asking about having a spare BECM, and apart from being lambasted for having such a stupid idea, was pointed towards the good doctor.

I've PM'd him pointing him in the opposite direction!

Will I burn in hell?

I doubt it, your most probably get a free pass the other way, I saw the post and can't understand why he wants a spare becm, if/when something happens, deal with it

I'm the same as Richard, I've always gone straight back on the lpg, remember your engine will run so much cleaner on gas, the most important side of the engine is the cooling, which you've bled, so shouldn't be any problems. As for starting with just the manifolds and downpipes ,, SOUNDS goooood 😁

Sounds silly, but some muppet hasn't popped the fuse into seat fuse box and it's in towing mode ?

Bet you've got a grin like a Cheshire Cat,, well done, always a good feeling, especially if it's your first rebuild.

Unfortunately I didn't have any Hylomar for the other orifices - RAVE/Workshop manual doesn't specify using anything there at all, but figured a bit of RTV can't hurt it.. if it starts pissing coolant out from the water galleries then I'll just have to tear it back down and get some hylomar.

I use engine jointing compound (wellseal) it's the stuff engine builders use, you can't miss the smell, just like walking into engine shop.
Can even be used on head gaskets !

I always put a short engine in ( easier to get at bellhousing bolts) then do the rebuild in the car, but suppose I've done so many of these, it's like changing the plugs to me, lol.
Hope all went well Marty, and you was just to tired to post anything..

Otherwise, unplug the timer relay ( under passenger seat) to check it's not the eas levelling that's causing your drain, will also give you a good idea how the air system is,,

My old dse ( non chipped) used to struggle getting itself up a hill. Let alone towing anything,, lol

He's talking about the site banner

Hello guys, my name is Matt and I live in a small town in Cambridgeshire.
I was directed here by a chap on another forum and told you lot are a little more helpful than the place I was at....lol....

Anyway, firstly I'll have to admit, I don't own a P38, I recently purchased a 2004 vogue.....

And although I know this place is primarily for P38 owners I hope It's OK to sign up...

I'm having cd changer issues so I'll start a thread in the appropriate place and hope someone here knows what's what...

Thanks chaps.
Matt.

Welcome , what kind of problem are you having with the cd changer ?

My Zavoli system (based on the generic AEB ECU) will beep at me until I press the button to cancel it when it's run out and switched back to petrol.

If I am under load and it suddenly cuts out (I think my sender is a bit sticky, so it goes from 2 bars to empty!) then I can get a bit of a lurch as it switches back, but there is no stop/restart. If I notice it's getting low and switch back to petrol manually, or if it changes back when it's not under load then it's hardly
noticeable.

I've just drilled/tapped my inlet manifold for the LPG hoses, so my next task is to mask/paint the manifold and then also to strip the injector rails off the vehicle and work out the mounting of them... I am tempted to buy pairs of injectors to make the hose runs even shorter, but it's an additional expense which is probably not necessary at the moment, unless I can't get the rails of 4 to sit/mount nicely.

Keep us informed, I'm not at mounting injectors yet on my lump, but have been thinking about getting them under the bananas, looking where to get a spacer if required

Happy new year to all, wishing you all a p38 problem free year..
