Make sure you lube the bearings and journals, you don't want a dry start, will stuff your rebuild up otherwise

Yes, there old style tappets, manually adjusted with feeler gauges. Been a while since I've played with any, certainly a powerful bit of kit, I like the older boats, they knew how to make them back then 😁

That's some engine, don't fancy doing the tappets though, so is that the sort of tug that guides the big ships in ?

You can pay from a grand upwards, so many different systems, it's a shop around conversion to get the best price for what you want

I'll stick with my grip tights, used on head bolts, no having to hit them, just put over and they lock as you twist. Earnt there money back time after time

I'm up for it, can do ball joints if needed. Or help with whatever else peeps need doing

I'm up for camp, with right meds I might manage 2 days, don't mind doing ball joints..

Hi Mark, and welcome, Jeez, how do people let there cars get so bad,, your list isn't to bad, wheel bearing and blend motor flap are the hardest. I say hardest, time consuming is more the word. We can help with doing these things, if you update your profile, put where abouts you are, and model of p38. Helps us with answering, looks like it will come up nice with a bit of tlc

If I remember correctly, the drop links have a space to lock a spanner onto and then undo the nut, but as richard says, if they won't move grab the grinder, there easily accessible.. I'm scratching my head at suspension ball joint as well 🤔

5/16 for sure but I grabbed them out of a bucket full of old bolts, they might have come from the Classics I've owned.

You was lucky to have them, I ended up going down the breakers and grabbing a few more.. trying to find somewhere local that sold bsw was a joke,, most just gave me a blank look, they obviously have never heard of whitworth, lol

There 5/16 bsw, depending on what stand you got, the 2 bolts at bottom of your bellhousing can be used, I then got some slightly smaller where I could bolt through the engine, worked like a dream

2500 doesn't seem bad, late model, I bet those carpets are like new under all those mats, i bought one like that a few years back, was mint, regret getting rid of it,, if it's what you want, go for it, your be kicking ya self otherwise, it's bound to have a few niggles, it's a p38

Smart casual, no trainers, I'm stuffed,,

Lol. I can't get away with not doing the oven, I buy those bags from £ shop, put racks in, next morning quick wipe and done,,

What's more important, is making sure the ring grooves are clean, I usually snap an old ring and use that as a scraper to clean the groove, re brass brush, I don't use the dremel ones, as I feel that where there so small, they don't flex as much as the larger ones,, of course there is the old way of wire wool and elbow grease. Hope all else is going well for you

The 322 is nice, but at that money I'd insist on another key, and still try hustle them down a bit

I always use a brass brush on a battery drill, then final clean with diesel on a nylon scourer

OUCH !

Or of course, there's platform shoes, I'm at a disadvantage with them, I'd hit every doorway I went through..

Jeez, sounds like LR are having a laugh, 450 for a key, that's highway robbery.. have you not thought about getting your fob sorted out, there are people out there that can repair them, maybe get a key from eBay so you can still use the blade while the guts of remote are being sorted out..
