I'm looking forward to getting back and working on mine again and getting it installed... And then obviously the nervous first turn of the key!

Don't be nervous, never had one of these fail to start first time, sometimes takes a bit of holding the starter till compression is there, but they always start 😁

Aha, I've got the mixture in mine, was spitting feathers when I changed, as I'd bought the 2032, but not the 2025, sounds like the first thing the previous owner got right,,

Rolling where, lol, any probs give me a shout, I've dusted off the baseball bat 😇

Chelmsford is only 20 minutes from me, what was the name of these muppets, as I've got one being picked up , is it mot'd ? Otherwise I'd say get it over to me, we can sort out a quick service and mot if needed

In other news, I somehow managed to get 28mpg (and climbing) showing on the screen between Uppingham and Leicester before hitting Friday afternoon traffic all the way north :(

Factoring in the traffic and including a period of 20 minutes sat not moving at all, we reached our destination showing 20.0 - which I was pleasantly surprised by.

28mpg , did you throw a rope round the bumper of the lorry in front,, lol
I normally average above 20 when on motorways, and I'm always 80 and above, think the highest I got mine was 26.4, but was at walking speed (50-55)

Mark, has it arrived yet ?

wtf, is the delivery guy having a laugh or what, I'd get onto Shipley and kick some butt, I certainly wouldn't be paying the full price. There taking the p**s,

dont know about anyone else, but I've never had to enter eka to a Thor, gems many times,,

If there wasn't different ones, then I might say there the same.
Theres certainly a different antifreeze recommended for ally engines, the actual antifreeze doesn't really wear out, it's the corrosion inhibitors that break down, something to do with silicates ( if I remember correctly ) I use oat ( organic acid tech ) antifreeze, seems to be what is used in ally blocks,

In 14 yrs of doing heads on rangies I've not come across a slipped liner yet ! Yes it can happen, the cars got a bad rep because of the 1 in a 1000 that might get a slipped liner.
Most head gasket fails seem to be caused by people not using the correct, if any, antifreeze.
It eats the gaskets away between the cylinder and waterways.
NOTE,, antifreeze needs to be changed aswell !

It's not about pressing to hard, you can burn the paint if your not careful, I've got one, think I've used it twice, I'd rather do it by hand, doesn't take as long as you think, first time I did the 3 stage clean

  1. Use cleaner ( after it had been washed ) buffed off
  2. Polish applied and buffed off
  3. Cover in wax and polish off
Then I took the wheels off, cleaned the alloys front to back, blacken tyres.
Blacked all the bumpers ect, still only took a morning, looked great for at least 5 minutes,,
Now, I say hello to Sainsburys car wash each week, lol

Know the feeling, used to work 20 hr days, now with the arthritis I have no choice, 3-4 hrs a day sleep ☚ī¸ī¸, don't know what I'd do if I slept any longer,, you got an eta on arrival of your new baby

OB, you getting excited, your up very early !

It's one of the few things I don't have, might have to invest in one for such cases,, or basically the wiring, with some switches I can flick on and off..

Thanks OB, I did wonder as the guy who did the unlock took the becm away to sort it out. Bet your like a kid in a sweet shop tomorrow, lol, I had the fun of alternator going yesterday, drove back 70 miles, at the end if I touched the brakes or indicated it died, had no dash, gears didn't wanna do anything., but got her home, will strip it today in between the rain showers

Hi all, anyone in sussex with a faultmate or nano to enter an eka code, I've just done heads on a rig, it locked out, had that sorted, bugger me, he takes battery lead off in case it drains,, ffs
Forgot to say, it's a gems, needs eka code put in, the door lock was demolished due to it jamming in super lock,,

It's not the mileage, it's the previous owners and there maintenance, I've paid a grand for a top spec 97. Had no problems at all, then I've spent 2 grand on supposedly well looked after rigs, with nothing but hassle. you need to see receipts for parts at least, just go over the car best you can, you've got to expect some perishable items to need replacing, air bags, cheap as chips, it's more engine, if it's smooth, gearbox good, then have a look

Congrats, a little bit of tittilation with some more walnut will have that interior looking sweet, ( steering wheel ) I've not seen that extra speaker on top of dash before ( heard of it ) shame those arches have bubbled, looks clean otherwise..

So glad I'm not the only one who has found that super safe place, where you put things you know your gonna want !

Cheers mate, that's all I needed to know,, 12x1.5 , bought 50 for 4 quid,,
