It seems the breather is supposed to run into the engine bay looking at a new one.

Personally I'd always use new pads with new discs.i changed all four for Delphi discs and pads. They have really good feel and stopping power.

Yep, mines a 1996 and does not have tc.
I've got a 2 wheel tc modulator in the shed to fit at some point

Later 2 wheel tc abs ecu will work no problem on earlier non tc cars. Obviously not vice versa.
Later 4 wheel tc has different connectors.

For info, I've just received the switch and now see the vent.
Next to the wires entering the switch.

I presume you mean windscreen washer pipe?
I'll pull it off when the other one arrives and fit other one after checking the switch works.

Well thats annoying! Been out today and no problems.
I'm guessing the heat from the engine and gearbox have dried out the switch.
Still going to change it for other one.

Stupid question, I'm normally quite good with electronics etc, but not sure how to test the switches!

Black to any earth and red to wire?
Closed would show complete circuit while open is infinity?

Now that I think about it I think this started last weekend when wennt through a Ford that was a bit deeper than I thought. Possibly got water in it if as Richard says this has a breather on it. I'm assuming its the original switch.

STC4452 is the part number. Only 1 on eBay that's used and £70+£20 postage from Latvia. Not taking risk in second hand one.

The displays were all back to normal once it's cooled down. Will check it this morning and see if it drives.

I've got a lynx evo. It was displaying what was on the dash until the dash stopped.

I don't mean I won't try second hand, just not ebay from abroad as return are mighty pain in the arsenal.
