We are an hour ahead....
It's where they throw poles while dressed in skirts with hairy legs...
I've been told that wheelbearings not necessarily have to show play when worn, as for a grumble at the speed of wheelrotation I'm in the same boat.
Oh well, confusing indeed. But anything Scottish draws my attention, in fact two of our former ferries have a second life at Western Ferries on the Gourock-Dunoon connection.
From the southwest all the way up to Scotland, it seems you are criss crossing the UK on Boxingday!
Didn't know old pics counted too.
Here's mine, last march in Sauerland
Or before that, my Classic just outside my hometown
Or before that, in Austria
Thanks Mark, Merry Christmas and a happy NewYear to all of you. May understanding be part of it.
There is a write-up about differences in Rover engines that explains it all:

I just thought I'd check to see if anyone on here had one? They come up on various P38 Facebook groups and obviously eBay, but I thought I'd check here first as it's a bit more of a trusted community!
For me it was a reason not to offer it on here, I just sold one. I've had it all apart and renewed conn bearings, mains, pistonrings, seals, gaskets and skimmed the heads but left the oilpump as it was, as the camshaft and valvegear.
It is sold 'as is', I did not want to sell it 'within the family'. I've been dissappointed myself too many times .

A poorly photoshopped Golf 1 cabrio...
And Rimmers badged it wrong, it is the heater FEED hose from manifold.

Anyone know the size of the O ring that goes on the metal cooling pipe that plugs into inlet manifold?
Sorry Mark, I thought you ment the metal outlet to top rad hose, this is the heater return (as the name says) you are showing and that is different.
Tony.
Looks like my English isn't well enough or read again, what I tried to explain to the guy is exactly the way you discribe it.
Tony.
The O ring sits in a V shaped recess between flange and manifold, it does not slide in so it will be tight when the size is approx. The 3 bolts hold it tight.

Didn't come from a man in France did it?
This was a DAF 575 for my brother's houseboat. They come from factory nicely painted in blue metallic and so it was.
First oportunity to let it run was after install, everything was wrong, injectors, fuelpump, valves. It's when we did our first linerjob (in a bucket with a CO fire extinguisher), luckily parts were (are) cheap.
Sometimes the world is bad, I once bought an engine 'overhauled' with a can of spraypaint...
For my Classic I had to buy the Champion RC11PYPB4, 16 mm socket too. Can't remember if the 20.6 mm plugs would have fitted though.
You could give it a try, maybe the electro-magnetic clutches hardly differ when it comes to connection on the shaft. The different partnumbers apply for the complete assembly (to VX, from WA).
For once I'll share some private info, it happened this weekend.
For my missus and me december 17 is special, it's the date we met. Romantic as I am (she believes me) I booked a hotel and romantic dinner in the east of Holland, in forrestal area near the German border, we also wanted to visit the Chrismas markets over there.
On our way I noticed the 3rd brakelight had two bulbs not working (reflection in rearscreen) and stopped at a gasstation. Send her in for coffee, in the meanwhile I looked after the bulbs by putting a screwdriver between brakepedal and driversseat. Engine was off, key in pos. 2. It took me 5 minutes to investigate, bought the new bulbs and off we went.
Oh no! Click click flat battery. Phoned our son to look at the web for a batteryshop nearby, saturday at 13:00 hrs. He found one and the guy promised me to wait, he should close in 20 minutes.
I asked a passing taxidriver to lend me some spark (I always carry the cables with me), it started right away and went off to the batteryshop, just in time and bought this 102 Ah battery for €119.- including 30% discount. It's the largest one to fit on the tray. He put a tester on the old one which was shot he said. Probably shorting on the bottom. (In fact I should have to know it, a week ago I had a flat battery over night but since then no problem).
The rest of the weekend was as expected, we had a good time with Glühwein und Bratwurst!
Moral of this story: when you plan something romantic, double check the jealous other lady in your household!
I don't know if the steering geometry of a P38 is similar to the Classic, those cars have a 2º toe-out to accomodate tractionforce of 4x4 devided 50/50 front and rear where 2wd cars have toe-in and stay better on track. A P38 will always be a bit 'wandering' for that reason, plus the tyres are wider than those on a Classic and increase that effect.
