I had a lot of water gathering in this wheel well area and solved it by drilling several holes in the lowest points around in a circle. I put rust preventer at each drill hole. No water anymore....

I just put a set of Vredstein Pros on the H&H.
I can only say that these are the best tyres I have had on a vehicle bar none. The road noise is minimal and the vehicle drives so smoothly it is almost incredulous. Maybe this was because I was running on a set of Pirellis that were balder than Telly Salavas head but none the less.....
I paid $175 each for them and they were flitted and balanced for free. Was able to talk them into a free alignment while I was there.
Recommend VRESTEINS!!!!

Ill be giving that job to a local LR guy. Just trying to get a feel as to how much this job should cost, ballpark....

Fair enough gordonjcp...... but question must be asked, is this a potential catastrophe waiting to happen? Started about a month ago.

OK.
Well thats a nice Christmas surprise.
Any ideas as to what I can expect on price for it to be rebuilt?

I’m not referring to the misses! This is something more relevant....
My 2000 P38 makes an every increasing mid tone whine from left side of vehicle but only when I’m not accelerating. The tone is higher at faster speeds and conversely, as I slow down, the tone decreases until it disappears at about 5MPH. It’s not the exhaust.
Both rear hubs, rotors and brake pads were changed in June of this year and I don’t believe that these are the cause of the sound. Tyres are newer since November.
Not much else I can type to describe the condition so....... any ideas?
But like telling doctor w]you have a pain but only when you walk.... what’s wrong?

Well to be honest, what with the title being “What Have You Done To Your Rover Today” one would expect comments about things one has done to their Rover...... the thread drift was getting a bit far off the path there and where it would end up could be along the lines of “certainly there’s nowt like a good poached albatross egg when you visit Botswana’.....
So to answer your question as to who cares, I do.... I’d prefer not to go flipping through pages of non relevant to the topic “bolloxology” if you don’t mind, but that’s just me. If I’m in the minority, then fair enough, we are all entitled to our opinions. Then again, why bother putting titles on posts? Let’s just all have a rumble and murmur about everything and anything and refrain from post titles...
Editors note:
My terseness today could be caused by the schlacking the Irish got today from the English at Twickenham.

There’s thread drift and then there’s this......

Took my daughter to school in the Linley today. Lady parked behind me in the line for dropoff got out tapped on my window.
Her words: “That’s so cute that you would put your wife’s name on the back of your truck. Wish my husband would do that for me!”
Didn’t have the heart to explain....

Gilbertd..... that was one of the better replies to a post on this site.... it should be a sticky......

Thanks for intel on this.
Does anyone know if they issued a users manual for the navigation system?
Neither of my P38s have such a manual and both vehicles had boat loads of documentation with them. I’d find it hard to believe that LandRover sent these vehicles out without user manuals for GPS.....
TheGPS clocks being off 15 minutes is a head scratcher

Correction it’s not a JANES system it’s a CARIN Phillips.
It’s all working right but when I set the time one to East Coast USA it’s off by 8 hours. Even if I just enter a timezone in the middle of the Atlantic, and time being actually 1330 the GPS says 1315, so it’s 15 minutes off.
Not a huge deal, and it’s not something I use as it doesn’t give traffic updates etc, but I would like it to work as designed.
The vehicle didn’t come with an instruction manual for the GPS, which may be understandable as it would take up the entire boot space, such is the complications of the unit. Ahead of its time back in
2000, but still....
I’m assuming that the satellite the car uses is probably on it’s slow death spiral to the earths atmosphere and soon to burn up.
Another question, does anyone know if the 4 digits code for the GPS to run a self diagnostic is a big standard one or did that come from some brown envelope handed across the desk on new vehicle acquisition?
Finally, would anyone have a spare copy of the CARIN Phillips GPS users manual they would like to sell or even copy?

Does anyone know how I can input the correct time and date into the JANES nav system on P38?
System works fine but time and date incorrect.

Changed every interior bulb to LED, including puddle lamps, glove box etc.
Makes a massive difference. Prior to change I had all the illumination of a birthday candle.... now I can actually see things.
Recommended task....

Cheers

Does any one have a set, source or part number for the plastic covers that clip on over the exposed bolts that hold the seat belts to the B and C posts?
They are black in color and the only part number I van get from inside them is EWR10004XXX.
Broke 3 of the sh1ts taking them off.....

Refabricated the roof lining in the H&H. Took about an hour to remove. Did the job on my own as the misses was out with friends (social distancing I am sure). I’d recommend two pairs of hands but I am proof that one person can do it, with a cup of tea. Broke all 4 bastard plastic covers for the seat belt holders. Bastard things.....
Removed old fabric, wire brushed the shell, applied heavy duty spray on fabric and shell then Bobs your uncle. Allowed to sit all day and it’s now 153AM in Conneticut, USA and job is done. Phishing rain like a horse on a flat slab but it’s done. Happy with outcome.
Bastard covers.....

“What's wrong with just looking at http://new.lrcat.com/, all models up to 2015.“
Jesus Richard you gave me cold flash with that comment. Sounded exactly like that fuckwit at RR.net Toadhall when he would rant “Its in the RAVE” at every question posted.
Fortunately, we all know u r not a twat.........

White flag here. Lost in translation.... What I have is a brochure for ancillary parts such as spot lights, dog guard floor mats, first aid kit etc. As such I may have misled some into thinking that I have a brochure on all trim and vehicle parts.
I’m blaming global warming and all the talk about electric cars.....

I have one. Send me your email address and I will send you .pdf of pages.
Do you want covers front/back as well? All pages?
