Are you going OEM or Audi?
Dropped her off at the local Garage to have the backboxes replaced. Hopefully this will all be under warranty as the claim was made well in time but then lockdown hit and we're past it now.
Still, the "Hairy Exhaust" jokes were wearing thin so I'll be glad to get it done.
Park it on the flat and leave it overnight. The lowest corner has a leak. Simples :)
(I'd bet on the rear left!)
I had a re-gas from KwikFlit. £59 and it's nice and cold again. To be fair, it wasn't bad but there's no point in having a comfy car if it isn't comfy.
As an anti-Covid19 measure they have turned off their coffee machines, which seems a strange thing to do. I wandered round York for the hour and a half with my dog, which was very pleasant. Then I had to wander around for another 20 minutes while they recharged their gas machine because apparently it only holds 900ml at a time and the P38 holds 1400. It didn't cost any extra, so I had an iced Latte from the Starbucks next door.
Lockdown holidays!
I drove through water that was over the bonnet in my Jeep one day, and did a classic Top Gear move as I rolled down my window to warn the oncoming driver and rolled straight past her entire car before reversing again :)
After water, all bets are off. Especially if you have drums :O
huh, a friend of mine has a similar setup on the front of his Disco3. He has it hidden (ish) in the grill. I'm not sure whether it's for jumping the disco or powering equipment (he has a generator hire business).
Neat Job!!
It seems a bit weird to lose spark on one whole bank as each coil fires one plug on each bank on a GEMs - assuming I'm reading this right:
I'm trying to think what else it could be that one whole bank has in common on the ignition side of things.
I think you did the right thing!
Good point but from a cold start everything is at ambient anyway so the heater plate isn't going to make a difference.
I've bypassed mine, no issues so far. I simply removed the hoses and left the plate and bolts in place so it can be hooked up again later if I ever run into icing problems.
If you suspect an air leak it's an area to test but it won't have any effect on starting especially in this weather.
That is very neat - fits right in!
I am working (from home) but a weekend one could work. Or next week (I'm on holiday).
I'll send you all a virtual burger :)
That is properly stuck, well done :)

and what did you do in 1994 that caused you to meet a GMP Traffic officer? Would probably still have been using their Classics then.
I ran out of fuel on the M62.. nothing sinister except I had two SA80s in the back! Simpler times! :)
Probably the guy I met in about 1994 - he was a huge fan :)
Tanis, do you have a charger that will do a de-sulphation cycle? My latest acquisition does and it can work minor miracles with tired batteries.
This is the one I have but there are many others: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E907PWS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That one is available quite reasonably now as there's a new range out from that company.
Here's the 5A version https://tinyurl.com/y8e9q6u3 at Hellfrauds
Great news! And you've got a refreshed motor as a side-effect.
I like the way you've gone straight to cosmetics :) Approved!!
Were you charging the battery out of the car? If so, it sounds like it's about to become a spare...
Hats off Sloth, you're really going after this!
