True- last time I used the Avo was testing the feedback pots in the blend motors.
I'm very fond of those old volt and ammeters on the windowsill, hand painted dials and all that. Not sure that I'd actually want to use them for their intended purpose though. They're a bit battered.
These? Definitely not an Avo anything. They're both around 1920s I think. I've got an Avo 6 somewhere in a large box of ancient electrical test equipment I think.
Found myself looking at my current desk paperweight and thinking it could have come out of an engineering shop any time in the last 100 years looking exactly the same
Just ordered a nice shiny new one of these
After 12 years and 167 000 miles I figure it was about time to pension the old one off.
I'm thinking that these will come with the output pressure pre-set?
Contacts stuck in the Sport button?

There's 3 options if that is the problem, re-weld it (not easy as it's a pretty hefty lump and the oil inside it could catch fire), replace it (not cheap) or see where the porous section or crack in the weld is, drill it out, tap it and put a screw coated in Loctite in the tapped hole. The third method was used successfully on a Classic Range Rover that had the same problem on the rear axle.
I've seen the cracked case problem on quite a few cars (not P38s) over the years. Jacking on the drain plug and using a scaffold pole to tighten the tapered plug are a couple of my particular favourites!

EKA in the door would have worked. The fob won't sync while in that state. I used to get it all the time until I disabled passive immobilisation if I didn't start the car within 30 seconds of unlocking it.
Mine even politely locks itself again after 30 seconds, if I don't actually attempt to get into and start the car.
On my list to kill off, next time I've got the Nano plugged in.
Apparently they can sometimes do that if you've been playing pocket keys and pressing the button while away from the car. Loses track of the rolling algorithm or something exotic sounding
Diff oil smells like cats pee, if that helps!
Put some clean newspaper under the drip. You can then identify the colour better.
Clear fluid that feels oily? Brake fluid? Check your lines...
Interestingly, I floored it today to sprint onto the motorway and almost straight away it bleeped a lot and switched itself to petrol.
Filters are all new so I'm wondering if my 2005 vintage vapouriser is due for replacement...
(and no, I wasn't low on gas!)
I found it worked best done the other way round Marty
You monitor, test pilot drives! Problem was mine bottled doing full power acceleration runs. Need to find a new test pilot.
Welcome to the 2 working fobs club :)
Spot the difference:
I think visually the 16" wheel fills the arch better
Anyway- the good used tyre I bought off the bay is now fitted. It was indeed good, and hardly used.
Had the other 3 popped off and checked at the same time. No damage to those.
Try the alternative sync method:
Key in lock, press lock and turn key to lock, key to centre release lock button, press unlock button and turn key to unlock
Don't blame me if car catches fire or a plague of locusts fly out of glove box though
Don't worry about the 97. When it gets to 105 it's time to give it a hard stare
It's designed to do that! Coolant pissing out of nipple is a good sign. means it's got to top of rad.
Put your finger over it while you blow out the pipe, then pop pipe back on.
Watch for initially burps of coolant from that little hole at top of expansion bottle, which should settle down into a stream when all is well.
Don't you find that your collets are getting shinier by themselves as you get older?!
And I'm sure it's more than 13 months since Summer Camp before last...
Proves you've flushed out the K Seal though. It would have sealed that leak otherwise!
Pop the grille off and give the rad matrix (bits you can see anyway) a shot with the hose to wash out any mud and crud that's resting in there.
Don't use an air line though- did that on my old one and filled the entire engine bay with dust
Mine does the same thing! Used strap wrench to put it back as hadn't noticed Gilbertd's lugs!
Would probably put a bit of Loctite on it, if I could be bothered...
