Yes, substitution is the best/quickest way to check coils; Have you looked at the coil physically (for cracks)
and/or observed in a very dark environment to check for leakage (sparks) yet ?

It is irritating when photos and descriptions are so different: Of late I have been giving bad feedback when this happens,
similarly when vendors say they are 'in the UK' but they are not..... At least e-bay has kept my P38 on the road though....

I had suspected that RR (and to be fair '£1/nut' is what you normally see when cars are being broken) but he may have more success with a standard "auction+ reserve price" approach anyway (?) No extra photos, but no receipts/proof for new (presumed ?) Coscast engine, 'EAS is being worked on' etc etc is not really helping him either - otherwise it's just really all just a 'fishing expedition' surely ? Tagging something on here because it was irritating but was an EASy fix.....
(One of those where it has to get worse before you can track it)
Symptoms; The (usual) random/occasional 'Xmas tree lights' showing up, eventually became "EAS Fault",
diagnosed to Front/Right Height sensor giving out-of-range readings.
Fix: Turned out it was just some corrosion in the "knee" joint on the Pot. linkage. This made the joint stiff
enough to stick and affect the reading. (For those unaware this joint is just a pin through a rubber bush)
One of those jobs worth checking/lubricating next time you are under the beast (?)
Note; May be more common if/when the car sits for a while: ie. If a daily driver the joint
may not stiffen up so much (?)

I was actually saying with an Analyser you could prove that using wirewounds in that circuit would have NO discernible 'frequency' effect/s.
The main issue here is why so many appear to believe it would ! In fact I will also contact Ray A. and ask him that exact question....

I realised that OB but it still does not really explain the whole 'not wirewound' issue in this case.... and I guess you could only prove all this with a (AF) Spectrum Analyser, too ! Similarly I am aware that ground loops etc as associated with screened wire can be an issue with (more) traditional systems. At risk of getting into (more) trouble with the purists the interior of a P38 is not exactly a (perfect) Anechoic Chamber either... not to mention our (at least probably for many of us now) 15K Hz (or less) upper range either.... aka "Hiss, what's that ??"... !!

Accordingly I would personally use a single wirewound 47 ohm / 5W in place of the three 120 ohm / 1W items, as implied.

The main problem is we are again back in 'perpetual motion territory', ie we would need a HUGE alternator/regulator to produce enough energy to electrolytically split enough water to H/02 in the first case... and that alternator would thus increase engine load (and fuel consumption) considerably - as Morat has previously stated....
Of course we could 'just' use a small on-board nuclear reactor to supply power to the electrolysis process instead....? ( just don't tell the H&SE !!)

Have you tried the old trick of tracing the leak with vegetable dyes of different colours ?
Don't drill out the screws (it will melt the plastic) try cutting a slot for a flat-blade driver with a little diamond disk in a dremel (if space allows)

I already have an MSV - which works great (along with my PC) but the Nano is much more versatile/portable.
The key (differentiating) factor with any Diagnostics Kit is good support, and with the 'others' it is virtually non-existent of course !
Some of these EV beasties have 'Regenerative Braking' of course although I suspect that's more of a gimmick than anything.....
But of course you could have a wind turbine on top to 'charge up whilst parked up' (if there is handy breeze,..) ?

Sorry Gilbertd, I meant the kind of meter you (ie. she) would have to put a token/card in to charge, and so paid for by Electric Car owners themselves of course.
I realised a long time ago they the VAT/HMRC/etc folks like to make things unnecessarily complex so companies get overwhelmed by all the rules/paperwork rather than spending time developing the business (and thus paying more tax..). Don't get me started on R&D allowances though !
OB's comments made me think of something too: When ("in the near future......") we are ALL driving Electric cars cars perhaps we can play the sound of a nice V6/V8 etc through the car's Sound System (sychronised to the speed/acceleration etc). A "hum" just does not do it for me....
