Occasionally the old girl seems to "cough" or splutter when under light load in any gear but it's very prevalent in 4th as the entire car shunts back and forth as it misfires.
idles buttery smooth.
Under hard acceleration its fine..
Nanocom has found these faults.
cheers.
Hiya my old P38 has an LPG conversion, the wiring for the LPG ecu is rather hapdash and strewn all over the shop I was wondering what it would take to remove it and get the original loom back to factory/petrol spec.
It's a multipoint system would it just be tied in with the petrol injector loom or is it more in depth?
cheers.
Hmm bloody eas.
Old girl has a peculiar issues in that she will lift the eas really quickly but lowering her back down takes an absolute age around 2 minutes to get from wade mode to access mode also its gone from going "tick tick tick" to making a faint whooshing sound from the valveblock exhaust
It started happening after i plugged in the EAS unlock cable a few weeks ago it had "no idle" but seemed to have done something.
Now with the wires soldered on the A post I have Comms but there are no logged faults, but it is still is acting odd.
I was thinking possibly the driver pack has possibly got an issues, or the exhaust solenoid?
any help appreciated..
cheers,
"Error unable to start communications with ECU"
Seems my Nano is having issues, any pointers gents, footwell connectors come to mind for some reason?
thanks argh!!
Odd question but is it best to pujrchase from blacksolutions website or some of the vendors on ebay selling them?
Thanks.
Old P38 2001 V8 has had the 3 amigos for a while ABS t/C and handbrake light..
Initially I thought it was the accumulator, the abs pump would run for every peddle press, new accumulator fitted and it only runs after 10 pedal presses.
However the lights are still on...
Unfortunately I don't have a nanocom, any ideas as to what the issue could possible be..
I have noticed that if you put moderate pressure on the brake pedal it hits a "hard spot" and then sinks over an inch downwards..
Could air in the system cause an ABS issue? possibly.
Thanks.
Hiya gents i've put the old 38 back together and she runs, no leaks
However it has a slight misfire at idle, she's showing faults for both 02 sensors, would I be correct in assuming that they are most likely to blame for the misfire?
Annnnnd.
I'm looking at new sensors is there a specific type I need to get for the thor v8?
cheers all

Hiya Gents having an issue with removing the hub,
I'm doing the balljoints and I've taken out the 4 bolts holding the hub to the knuckle but the bloody thing won't shift..
Is it a case of just beating it off with a hammer or am i missing a trick??
Thanks.
I've got a set coming for my v8.
looking online there Seems there is some confusion on the final torque I've read 65 lb/ft and others say 85 lb/ft final torque?
Cheers
140,000 mile 4.6..
Original Cam.
Potato grade pics unfortunately but i've run a straight edge across the follower face and all of them are flat,
From what I understand 140,000 on a RV8 cam means they're usually a write off..
I've managed to remove the heatshields, managed to not mangle them too much.
I'm thinking of wrapping the manifolds in exhaust wrap and calling it a day..
Seems easier than trying to cram the stupid shields and their 400 or so little bolts that hold them on.
Thoughts??
Hiya Gents,,
I've gotta remove the LPG off of my P38 one thing i'm looking at is the wiring...
The ECU is behind the battery where the GEMS ecu is and the wiring goes here there and everywhere, there is a skinny wire that goes to the fuse box for example..
i'm tempted to to just cut through that and any awkward wires?
any issues with doing that do you all think?
Odd one this..
The old V8 has a coolant leak, it is dripping off of the bottom of the bellhousing i've removed the bell housing inspection plate and had a root around and oddly the inside of the bellhousing looks dry even the bottom feels dry if i root around with my finger, it just seems to leak coolant down the joint between the engine and the bellhousing.
The odd thing is she builds pressure in the system just fine, however if I remove the expansion tank cap and relieve all the pressure the leak stops immediately..
refit the cap and let it pressurise again and the leak returns.
My head is saying its got a headgasket leak from the coolant gallery and its weeping out when she's building pressure??
Another issue "or is it" is the coolant has a fair few big bubbles in it when shes running with the cap off, could be paranoia or is that indicative of a headgasket?
Any advice appreciated.
Manual states 51nm or 38ft-lbs
Just want to double check here is that correct?
Thanks.

Not too bad I guess a testament to having had LPG on it since new..
Cam is in good nick too surprisingly.
Hmm seems the old Range rovers valley gasket has shit the bed, a small puddle in work carpark was the telltale..
Coolant seems to be running off the Trans cooler lines and bell housing..
looks like a simple enough job, bloody Gas kit which profess autogas did a very neat "not" job of installing and their haphazard wiring is going to be fun...
Looks like valley to me.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Hiya gents, I have an issue with the roof trim pieces, the two black strips that run parallel down the roof..
I've removed mine and unfortunately ruined a few of the clips!!
These.
Any idea if they're still available?
Thanks Gents.
I need one!
I've gone through two Mf31-1000s in two cars, so not happy with them..
Anyone else got a recommendation on one that will fit?
Thanks
